Very nice lunch. Husband had the game hotpot which he said was delicious. I had the fish pie - again, delicious - however, there wasn't a lot of fish in it and only one small prawn. Overall a nice meal, but the good service tailed off towards the end of our meal. We were going to have coffees but nobody came back to us to clear our plates and we had to go. I would visit again though.
The room was clean and warm. The bed was comfortable. We spent the night. As we were there for a wedding. The wedding was conducted in the barn. Was all decorated with fairy lights and upstairs had a photo mirror with sweets for the kids. The food was good and the service was great. Breakfast the next morning was plentiful. Would recommend the plough for a party or dinner for two.
What an outstanding place. I was taken here today by a friend who had been before and said how nice it was. Nice was not the word. Excellent out standing friendly, warm cosy, serving the most amazing food. I have eaten in a long time. The attention to detail on each course served was impeccable. Hot tasty, food, full of flavour and the cheese pie was the best I’ve ever eaten. You could tell that the staff really enjoyed working there from their mannerisms teamwork and their friendly helpfulness. I felt the love between them, who they worked for, and the venue. it was very busy with a wedding going on in the next room, but that didn’t stop the five star service and even went the extra mile with no problems. The desserts were also as delicious and the whole menu looked very appetising enough for me to need to visit again to try something else. I would highly recommend this place whether it be for a special celebration or just lunch for two and even though it’s a good 30 minute travel for me I will make the journey.
Visited here for my sisters wedding last Sunday and it was perfect from start to finish. Ceremony was amazing, sit down meal was delicious and rooms were lovely. Facilities were great and breakfast the next day was fantastic. Had never been here before this visit but will definitely consider it now.Rooms: 5/5
Everything about the Plough is fabulous. The rooms, especially the room used for my grandsons wedding, the room we stayed overnight in,was spotless and comfortable, the food for the wedding and also the meal we had in the restaurant a few weeks ago but for me one if the very best things are the staff.they are so pleasant and can't do enough to help.Very highly recommended by all our family.
My Husband and I got married at The Plough Inn, August Bank Holiday 2022 and we have to say it was just incredible. The Plough Inn really had it all for us. A relaxed, warm space with lovely charm. A 17th century barn to host your ceremony and reception, 17 bedrooms for your guests to stay, parking, outdoor garden space, absolutely delicious food, fairly priced drinks at the bar and not to forget the best service you could wish for. The Plough Inn really made our dream wedding a reality. Nothing was too much trouble, we couldn't of asked for more, we truly were blown away. Our guests still talk about how good the food was nearly 5 months later... The guest rooms are also immaculate and very comfortable topped off with an incredible breakfast the morning after where we could meet and catch up with our guests that stayed over. We had such a wonderful time and cannot thank the team at The Plough Inn enough. We highly recommend The Plough Inn, it really is such a wonderful wedding venue. Thank you again Mr & Mrs Holmes 27.08.2022 xx
This visit was slightly disappointing. We had a bit of a wait for our food and when it arrived the meal that I'd ordered was slightly disappointing. I had ordered the steak and ale pie which had been seasoned with star anise, this was not in the description of the meal and had it said this I would not have ordered it. We will go back but I wish they would make food descriptions very clear.
Nice place for food. Was quite busy but service was a bit slow. Felt a bit "shived in a corner" and forgotten about. Had to get up to find staff to order drinks and desert. Food was lovely though had the fish pie, so nice
It's hard to find great and great value today but the Plough Inn was fabulous. We only stayed 1 night on Valentines for the dinner, bed and breakfast offer. Everything was first class from start to finish. For the price, it is 100% better than staying in a hotel. The food was top notch, the staff were extremely helpful and it was really good value for money. They deserve your business.
This place is excellent. A proper independent business. The standard of service from the very friendly attentive staff is what the industry should be aspiring to. A nice meal in pleasant surroundings too. Well done.
