This is an excellent place to visit, it’s a real gem. The guides are very informative and passionate and the exhibit are very interesting. It’s definitely worth a visit. There also the park area around for a walk plus it’s a free car park.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Brilliant time the voluntary staff are very informative about life at the pit would definitely recommend a trip oh and a cafe and toilet facilities which were very clean.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Very good place to go for a walk and relax. Plenty of walking paths in any directions. Green around and not over crowded. Also you can grab coffee or tea and something to eat for reasonable price in cafe located next to old mine building.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
The pit itself is now open! Every 2nd Sunday. Amazing people and the volunteers give some amazing insights. A real gem that I didn’t know about. Great that it is now open. It is also really worthwhile popping into the cafe and having a walk around. The footpaths have recently all been relayed. There are also several trails from here that are on the old railway lines
Really interesting place to visit. One of the friendly volunteers took us round, so informative.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo wait
The wonderful volunteers of the Friends of Pleasley Pit will show you round and tell you loads and loads of the history. Even in the winter season, on Thursdays, 10am–1pm, if someone is available, they will give you a tour.
Although the Pit Head is closed due to Covid restrictions do visit when it reopens. It's a really good insight into the working day of the miners . After a look round why not stop at the cafe for a bacon cob and a coffee. You won't be disappointed
