Great pub along the sea front. Friendly staff, we really enjoy our lunches here. Very family friendly. Would recommend to visit here! The Brie wedges are amazing! The menu is very good with a large variety. Please do try the brownies! They are homemade and possibly the best I’ve tried!
I have mixed feelings about this place and seem to need to edit my review every visit! After a poor experience on Boxing Day we were back again with friends on 30th and I must say I couldn’t find fault with anything - the food was great but also big thanks to Ellie who served us and was an absolute joy, I just wish the rest of the staff would take a leaf out of her book! We mentioned Boxing Day and got a free round of drinks by way of an apology and went away very happy
Have know this place over many many years never been until now. Went on a Friday Lunchtime the service was very good , the prices were very resonable & the quality of the food was great. It was not what we was expecting , it exceeded our expectations by miles I know it has been recently taking on by new owners keep what your doing you ain't going to go wrong, I wish you all GOOD LUCK. Thanks to all the staff who were brilliant as well as the views across The Estuary whilst having your lunch.
Honestly used to love this place but it's not the same was ignored by staff then one came in from smoking ignored us and poured a drink for someone she was with. Asked us to wait until she got her coat off before serving us. We gave booking name she couldn't find it and stood wondering where she was going to put us despite the dining area only having one table in use. The tables are no longer set up for silver service so had to use dinner fork for my starter and use the spare knife and for for my main. My burger was still raw on one side granted sent it back and they put it back on owner did give us a refund on that. Beer mats all over under ourbtable and pesky flies made enjoying dinner hard. The place is less a restaurant and more a bar vibe now. Menu is drastically smaller with weird concoctions suchs as sausage soup :/ Female staff had hair down so had the clear hair from the table after she took our order. However I did enjoy our drinks. I had Pink Gin and Lemonade and the other half had Guiness. I also enjoyed my starter but could have done with some butter. My other half had the soup out of curiosity best described as blended sausage in taste. The bread was cheap and not what I'd expect to go with a soup. Crusty bread or a small baguette would have been better. The toilets were lacking toilet roll other than that clean. Sea front view. Not my best experience and was warned by people that it wasn't great wanted to give the benefit of the doubt.
Significantly improved since the refurbishment. Everything plates to chairs and of course the food has had an upgrade. Delicious meals in a truly beautiful spot looking out over the sea. Yes the price is higher than other places but its to be expected given the quality of the food the location and the service of the very attentive staff.
Spent Valentines evening here, staff were lovely and food was very good.
We went for Sunday roast and we were not disappointed, but first the other bits, staff were friendly and polite, good range of beers on offer and a few nice cocktails. The pub itself is well laid out and there is a feeling of openness and you do not feel claustrophobic or cramped. A very relaxed atmosphere and welcoming staff. We ordered the lamb roast and it was delicious, just like you would get at home, well cooked, generous portions and all the trimmings. We thoroughly enjoyed it. A good selection of desserts followed and we chose the cheesecake which was a choice of biscoff or brownie so we had one of each, and very nice they were too. Our waitress was polite and very helpful and our food came out in good time. Overall a very good experience and one which I would highly recommended to others. Well worth a visit if you don't fancy cooking on a Sunday. We have now decided to visit through the week and try their lunch and evening menu out. Price was around average for the area but well worth it.
Had a lovely meal with friends here. Food was lovely, huge portions. Staff very friendly, place was clean and welcoming. Could have been a tad warmer but no complaints from me.
Just had a meal at The Playa staff were very attentive and friendly. I had a Lasagne and it was absolutely top notch the best i have ever eaten out even better than my homemade ones. Well done EXCELLANT. Totally recommend this place.
Amazing Saturday lunch, we enjoyed starters and mains and then the children loved the bouncy castle which was on for Easter Sunday. Very friendly staff and great service.
