The food was amazing, stopped on the way to the beach and pinewoods and I'm glad we did. Bartered halloumi instead of fish was lovely and am interesting take, the girl serving us was lovely and gave us directions to where we needed to go to next. Thank you! :)

We've given it 5 tries since new management moved in and it's been consistently awful every time. There is always something wrong with the meal, it's never anything better than average and the manager disappears at busy food times, leaving young kids to cope, only they can't. Staffing isn't thought out with 5 young lads on the bar and one young girl serving sometimes. Watched the manager deal with a complaint from a party of 8 and simply cringed at his ineptitude and inability to accept any responsibility. His over familiarity was awful, leaning over the woman with his arm round the back of her chair ! I can see the pub is now geared towards big screen sports but alienating all of the previous food clientele seems like a lose lose situation. I can't see how this pub could keep trading based on wet sales alone, which seems to be the aim of the management.

This is a nice place unless you are disabled or a wheelchair user.. they look down their noses at you and make a point of moving away from where your sat .. staff and customers alike make you feel very uncomfortable!!!!.. plenty of other nice places to go in formby like the cross inn, the grapes or the bay horse much nicer food too ....

I really liked it. Nice ale range, and a place to watch live sport, which this area has been missing. Food got a thumbs up from me. Will check out the quiz.
