This place is quite close to home so don't know why i hadn't been before.This is a Belhaven chain pub, it is called the Picture House cos in Rutherglen main st it occupies the corner site where once stood the amazing art deco cinema "The Rio". The pub is huge inside but is comfortable with nice decor. It was quiet tonight even though Champions League Football was being shown on multiple large screens. Staff are very friendly accommodating and helpful. Food is excellent quality from the pub classics menu. Tonight a few of the menu items were not available and portions are a bit on the meagre side. They are competing with Wetherspoons just across the road, so this is a problem that needs addressing. Prices are good and there are some really great offers all week long. Tonight it was 2 mains for £12.99.Hunters Chicken and Salt& Pepper chicken with Katsu Curry were both very tasty. Corn,chicken strips and pulled pork taco starters were also excellent at deal of 3 for £12. Sunday roast is available in various forms. Altogether a very pleasant dining experience.
Went here for lunch. The bar staff were very attentive. We had a gammon with eggs and chips which came out in a timely manner. And then the staff member Conner talked us into the dessert menu. My partner thoroughly enjoyed the friendly banter with the staff. The food was delicious. We even got a cheerio and the staff informed us of the quiz night and all the entertainment In and around Rutherglen which was helpful as we have just moved to the area. Great experience. Was busier than expected when we arrived due to Pink performing nearby that evening, but the buzz for the concert added to the atmosphere. Both the staff and concert goers were in great spirits. The music being played in the pub was right up my street. The food was delicious and reasonably priced- especially recommend the chicken shawarma and haggis bites. Staff were really friendly and helpful, especially the lovely Connor. Great wee place. Bonus points for an accessible bathroom on the ground floor. We will be back.

While in the area visiting family we decided to try the picturehouse, the food was excellent, fast service and staff were very attentive. We asked the barman Conor for a recommendation and his suggestion of haggis fritters and katsu chicken fries were perfect. The next time we are in the area we will definitely come back.
Steak pie was lovely and tender. Satsuma chicken loaded fries, lovley. Lasagne 10/10 Macaroni very comforting. Very friendly staff. What's not to like.Food: 4/5
Excellent food and drink for the prices. I did get a flat pint but one of the bartenders made a new one without me even asking him. The staff are friendly and the app is pretty good too which in Corona times is important. Considering how rough some of the pubs are around Rutherglen, they do well at keeping things civilized.
Great wee find of a pub. Good sized bar but still with a cosy welcoming feel. The food was lovely and Connor made us feel very welcome. We will definitely call in again next time we're in the area.Food: 5/5
We had a steak and cheese ciabatta. We asked for the steak to be medium cooked but it was very over done. Staff were very friendly.Food: 2/5
Always a great time when I visit the Picture House, the food is great, the drinks are ice cold and the staff are always so friendly. Served by Conner and Russell on my visit tonight and as always service was fantastic, and the quiz on a Thursday is worth a shot too!Food: 5/5
