Popped in for a drink on the terrace. Good selection of beers on draught. We sat outside on the front terrace benches. Plenty of space with a convenient outside bar. Staff are all friendly and efficient.
We fancied tapas and our usual venue was booked solid at lunch time.nnA quick Google search for tapas found the Phoenix, plus it was by the river.nnThey don't take bookings but upon arrival we found several suitable tables outside.nnThe tapas menu was limited but what we ordered was very tasty, they had one of my favourite tapas; shallow fried chorizo in olive oil.nnIf eating outside, you order and pay for food and drink at the outside bar.
Lovely sprawling pub over e number of levels with a beer garden overlooking the river. The pub made up of mainly quite small rooms, so there is not a huge amount of space for walking about too much - although I wouldn't say it was uncomfortable. The staff were lovely even though it was very busy, mainly with Sunday lunches - we didn't eat, but the food did have me drooling most of the time I was there. The Guinness was excellent as was the Brakspear Gravity.
A very friendly pub in a lovely location. The food was excellent although a little expensive. It was at lunch time therefore we only had some flat bread, olives, and chicken satay sticks.
After my sisters wedding, around 30 of us came here for the after reception drinks. They were expecting us, and we had the lovely back garden that backs onto the river. The bar hosts an outside bar and heated area. Although i was just pinching some of my sisters' food, It was lovely tapas! The drinks selection is very good, even boasting properly made cocktails. The team are friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Although I dont live in the area, I genuinely hope to go back there soon. I highly recommend it.
