The hotel is well located, and walking distance to a few restaurants should you choose not to eat in the hotel which has two restaurants with great choice and good quality food and service.nBedroom I had on the second floor was small but clean and comfortable but not for a tall person in the bathroom/ shower.nStuff were helpful and friendly, so apart from the room being tiny, a great little place to stop in when in this area
Had a one night stay as visited relatives nearby. Could do with a fresh coat of paint but not too awful. Room was cold on arrival, radiators appear not to be working although there was a quite efficient electric wall convector heater that warmed the room fairly quickly. Room on the small side as was the bathroom with no heating, bed was comfortable and clean. A range of cereals for breakfast as well as a cooked breakfast menu to choose from. Good car parking facilities at the back of hotel. Hosts were welcoming. Yes, would stay again but only for a night.
Really enjoyed our stay here. My team were looked after by the charming owner, who is a very helpful guy. The bed was so comfortable, I wanted to take it home with me. Sheets and towels changed daily + room cleaning. They have added extra heaters in every room, so you can have the room toasty. The Indian food in the restaurant is completely authentic, and yes I have travelled India extensively. Ok, it's not a brand new building, but it's charming and right in the middle of town, walk anywhere. I was at a show at Stoneleigh & our team really enjoyed The Peacock Hotel & had a fantastic experience all dining together at breakfast and dinner with very attentive and polite restaurant staff. Thoroughly recommend. Not expensive, they don't hike their prices during the dates of the shows, like many other local hotels. Thank you, see you again soon.
Bedding is clean and close to station. Rooms have plasterboard thin walls and I mean like a single plasterboard. I could hear my neighbour chatting, switch the lights and the wall shakes when your neighbour shuts the door. Mechanical humming sound inside the room and squeaking floorboards. I could hear people talking outside. There is endless door banging sound. Must say a very disappointed stay despite its cheaper price in comparison to better brand hotels nearby.
Good spot for my Race Retro visit nearby. The previous room occupant had removed the TV remote but wifi was good. Nice breakfast.
