A wonderful spot for lunch, quietly hidden in the Hampshire countryside. The Pavilion is a firm favourite of ours, with a good menu selection, plus a great range of drinks too. The Coronation Chicken filled jacket potato pictured is my normal go-to option. The dressing on the side salad is also very tasty, complementing the spud itself. The sandwiches are also a good option with or without a cup of soup as an added extra. The cakes here are also very nice the Lemon Meringue pie is 5-stars. If the weather is nice, it’s great to sit outside and enjoy the grounds, but on a chilly day, the indoor spaces are also very cosy and inviting. If you are passing, pop in and see for yourself how good this place really is.
Went for late lunch on a Monday. Staff were beyond helpful with newborn baby and cheeky toddler on our sitting. Really warm genuinely caring team who are good at what they do. We were given a spacious table in the potting shed. Didn't feel claustrophobic. Had lots of space. Had buggy with newborn in and needed to breastfeed. So very grateful staff were so accommodating. We made sure to reflect this in our tip. Something worth noting: I'm hearing impaired and sometimes find acoustics in different places make it difficult for me to hear. But not at this tearoom. Even though every table was busy I could converse with no issues. Yay! Food was incredible. Family friendly choices. I went with the scones for dessert. Amazing, flussy and delicious! Definitely recommend a visit just for these. We've been before and we will come again. Toilets were immaculate even though busy. So nice to go for a walk around the trees after dining. We spotted lots of interesting things like a Merlin and buzzards. Then we headed to the garden centre. Lovely afternoon out.
We went for a cream tea as a birthday gift. Although the food was good, we were really disappointed overall. The tea was £16.95 each and we both went away feeling hungry. I usually struggle through a cream tea so was disappointed with this. The scones were tiny - only about 3-4cm round 2 mouthfuls! - and the sandwiches were less than an inch wide. It all looks lovely on the trays but don't be deceived by looks - its all very miniature : For a total cost of £34, it is a bit of a rip off. Sorry.
Always a treat to go here. Top tier cafe/lunch/afternoon tea venue. Delicious bacon & egg bap, soft bap, loads of bacon, posh sauce! Waiting staff are usually young people who are extremely polite. Can get busy, but worth wait for polished ambiance
Fantastic Tearoom! The staff are brilliant and the food is very good. Easy parking, it gets really busy here so allow time to wait or book ahead if you want to secure. There is seating inside & outside. There is the opportunity to walk around the gardens and there is a AED unit not far from the tearoom too. Highly recommend coming here, especially for afternoon tea
Stopped for lunch at about 13:15 on a weekday and although it seemed busy there were a good few tables still available. Service needed a bit of 'encouragement' with separate prompts for cutlery and the bill. The food was good quality and served quickly. I'm sure it's a place we will return to again.
I visited this morning on a spur of the moment breakfast. It was slightly before 10am so very quiet. I sat inside in the exposed brick area. The tables were clean and tidy and the addition of flowers on the table was a lovely touch. I was welcomed by Beth and given time to peruse the menu. I opted for The Pavilion Breakfast, pot of Earl Grey, orange juice and sparkling water. Beth had the lovely quality of being attentive, customer focused and funny humorous without being over bearing. My breakfast was served and it was a feast for the eyes even before I took my first bite. The artisan butter looked and tasted great, the sausauge was firm meaty and very tasty. The perfectly cooked egg and mounds of streaky bacon was served atop a brown multigrained doorstep which had been pre butterred I think when warm so naughty. The portobello mushroom and tomato played second fiddle to the other items but they were lovely too To précis, a divine location, well cooked and presented food, I felt value for money considering the quality of ingredients £25.15 including tea orange juice, sparkling water and a bakewell slice. with the cherry on the top being served by Beth and her lovely manner and personality
Lovely food but a very very long wait for an inside table for four, then another queue outside to order food, which came quickly in about 10 mins. We hadn’t realised that outside tables were available to anyone when vacated, so we hadn’t needed to have waited all that time! The impression was chaotic.
Lovely Tea room in a gorgeous setting within the old Estate walled garden. Very attentive friendly staff, even on a really busy sunny autumn day. I had the Vegan Breakfast it was Yummy! Definately recommend
Went for a beautiful wintry walk from Rowlands Castle to Stansted house, amazing views, scenery and woodland walks. Arrived at Pavilion, lots of tables, chair's, cushions and blankets outside, very busy inside, had our dog with us so sat outside, got served very quickly, staff friendly, lovely tranquil atmosphere. Gardens very pretty and well kept, garden centre next door, walked back past the house, Highland cattle and through woods. Definitely worth the visit latte was great !
