Coffee and cake stop in Elie. Marvellous bakery goods served by a really friendly lady. The pavilion is situated beside tennis courts and is very close to the golf clubhouse. It is 5 mins walk to glorious Elie beachnWe didn't look at the main menu as we were having dinner in Dunfermline later in the eveningnThis was a very pleasantnsimple coffee and cake stop before a long walk on Elie's amazing beaches which were virtually deserted today. Lucky us, had whole place to ourselves. Won't be like that in summer when it can be very busy.
Nice place with great cakes, with inside and outside seating available. However, a word of warning if you want to sit outside to have your tea and cake and turn up within an hour of closing as you will only be able to have your tea or coffee in a fairly small cardboard cup but at the same price as a pot of tea or big China cup if you turn up earlier. Felt ripped off today so won't be returning, we'll not near to closing time anyway
Lovely staff, great place for a snack or meal. Smoked haddock and prawn fishcakes were a treat. Chicken goujons and chips were excellent, best chips I have had. Food piping hot and attractively served.
Very delicious food for a reasonable price! Perfect for a cup of coffee after a walk on the beach. Welcoming atmosphere for tourists and locals, with the option for free parking
People with allergies beware! The woman on the till who took my order was dangerously careless. She went to the kitchen at my request to find out whether the minestrone soup contained gluten-free pasta. She came back and said it was fine, they made it without pasta, just vegetables. This sounded odd. At this point someone came out of the kitchen and said I should not order that soup because it definitely contained gluten.nShe did not apologise to me, or seem to recognise that she could have caused a big problem for me and the cafe.
