We were staying in Dalkeith for our upcoming wedding in Scotland. I was looking for a place to grab dinner our first night. This popped up on my search and it sounded great. We drove a short distance and about 6:30 PM went into a relatively quiet establishment. The decor was fantastic!  Place is very sharp looking. But it was the food that was really really top notch. From the haggis appetizer and the halloumi cheese, to the meatless burger and battered haddock! Everything was top notch.  The drinks were also very good and the service was fantastic. Thanks so much for making our first night in Scotland a great one!

Great restaurant. Will definitely go back again to try the other dishes.  We arrived without a reservation and they were able to accommodate us. It was in the week so I’m unsure how busy it gets over the weekend.  The portions were big - so much that we were unable to do desert.  The service was great.

What a great atmosphere, I was here doing a job supplying my photo booth for customer's having a birthday event, but stayed and had a drink in the bar.  Great staff, great atmosphere and overall great experience, didn't have food but it looked awesome and will be definitely bringing the wife some time soon.

First visit in a couple of years, but ended up going down twice in a week for breakfast! Nice outdoor area with cool little greenhouses for sitting in if you fancy!

I fall in love with this place! Amazing atmosphere, food delicious, service very nice and fast. I really like the style inside. Definitely will come back! Free  car parking.

The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was great with the bar and restaurant seating areas being very cosy and aesthetic. I got a salted caramel espresso martini and it was probably the best I’ve ever had, even the foam had a great taste. The beef burger was average, the brioche bun was a little dry and the sauce was scarce. The side of chips was crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, very impressive. Fish and chips on the menu was also great. Thank would easily resturn for some drinks and bar snacks.

Had a really lovely late lunch today. Was the first time I have been here and it won't be the last. Food was of high quality and staff friendly and attentive.

Service was slow 45mins before starters had arrived to table. The restaurant wasn't very busy to warrant the slow service.  The meals were inconsistent ordered the buttermilk chicken burger was over cooked and burnt on the edges. The potatoes on the Sunday roast were harder than they should be. The cheese cake was two different sizes of portions when it arrived at the table.  Unfortunately wasn't value for money and wouldn't return in a hurry.

A lovely venue with great offerings. Always something gluten free and always vegan main courses, which are often interesting would be nice to have vegan dessert options. Great macaroni cheese, loved by my toddler. Really nice indoor and outdoor space overlooking the river. I have experienced very long waits here over 1 hour from arrival to food on Sundays, but this is unusual. Very friendly, helpful staff.

Food was amazing! Service was a bit slow. Everyone was polite and helpful. We have been a few times and most times drinks have come after food or drinks take ages to come. Seems to be lots of staff as well as managers on the shifts. Other than that it's fantastic! Definitely recommend breakfasts there!Food: 5/5
