Nice spoons in an old theatre. Still has a lot of the original features. Have never tried the food, so can't comment, just tend to call in for a drink when we're there for the day. Had to wait a while to get served at the bar as the bar staff didn't check who was next and kept serving the pushy ones first. Will use the app next time.
On our 1st visit, Saturday afternoon, went in the back door to be confronted by stairs. I am a wheelchair user, so this nearly put us off. I am able to walk short distances, and can climb stairs slowly if needed. Nowhere was there a sign to advise, that there was a flat, easier access around the corner! Our 2nd visit later we accessed this way to the lift, but on getting to the bottom, couldn't get out, due to tables with people seated eating. Went back up and found a table close to the disabled toilets. Was glad to see this locked, needing a key. A lot of Weatherspoon's tend to leave open, with the 1st door being wedged open! Service was courteous and speedy. Lovely old cinema, sympathetically restored. Was very busy, we didn't eat, but plenty were and the food looked good.
Nice place to eat and wonderful building, just a shame the table we sat at had the last person's food left in the table for over an hour. They definitely need to stop cutting the amount of staff and hire more people. Lowered the score to 2 stars as as asked the man that served us clean the table and all they took were the last person's plates, the left all the empty bottles of sauce and left over coke too.
What a very amazing and unique weatherspoons this place is. It’s absolutely huge and there is always lots of seating. Service is fast for food and drinks and staff are very nice and friendly.
Highly valued place for architectural past and attachment to local history. Food good as should be, service good.nBut place it is awesome. So nicely adopted to current needs. If you like witherspoon offers this is the place you should have meal and blend with local spirit of the Wales.
