I occasionally need to take clients out for lunch and this is the perfect place! Although I haven't been for an evening meal recently they have a great menu with great specials, and also hold themed nights and events throughout the year. The express lunch menu is varied and superb value, the ambience and decor works for both formal and more informal events, and the excellent service is fast and very professional.
Been here multiple times. Food is great. Staff are always on hand. Very clean and tidy. Great Location to the Town Centre too. Haven't stayed in the Rooms myself but I had Family stay there earlier this Year as it was near to My Wedding Venue, Family said the Rooms were lovely.
It was our second visit here for Sunday lunch. Great food and the menu always leaves you wanting to come back to try something else. Friendly waiting staff. Very accommodating to our two lurchers. Not normally one for dessert but the key lime pie and cucumber and mint sorbet was delicious. We’ll definitely be back and so will our friends.
I'm writing my review at 3.00am in the breakfast area. Sleep is not an option due to the faulty smoke detector in my room which flashes a red light every five seconds. Not helped by the sound of other people's macerator toilets. I might have had a better chance of sleep if I hadn't gone to bed hungry. Tuna steak was raw. Spiced potatoes served with it dried out and tough too long under a heat lamp?. This can happen. Even a decent chef can get a dish wrong. What irked me was the fact that the waiter manager cleared my plate with an uneaten meal still on it without question or apology. Left me with the distinct impression that people find their food inedible so often that he's just accepted this as normal.
Went there recently with friend for lunch and it was brilliant Oysters were fresh and tasty, sea bass was great too, but I wasn't too keen on pork belly as it came sitting on the top of the mash and covered in sauce so it spoiled the crispness of it and made it soggy. I prefer it all separately and sauce on the side. Seafood was fantastic overall and I HIGHLY recommended this place!! Nice intimate small cosy restaurant
One of the loveliest pubs. The vegan menu is out of this world especially the arancinis! And the wine selection is lovely. Good prices as well.
Just keeps getting better. Every time I’ve visited The Oyster Smack I have enjoyed the food, the ambience and the staff have mastered that knack of being attentive but not over the top. Would highly recommend.
I chose the Osyter Smack Inn for a self-date night as it was local and had a pleasant looking vegan menu to choose from. The online booking process was straightforward and upon arrival I was greeted by Dasha, who was polite, professional and friendly. The drinks and food were reasonably priced and my vegan meal was well presented, brought to my table efficiently and was certainly tasty. All the staff I engaged with were friendly and helpful and the venue was clean and presentable, with a choice of tables and the atmosphere amongst diners and staff alike was relaxed. Overall, I had a thoroughly enjoyable experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Oyster Smack Inn. Thank you.
My husband and I enjoyed a lovely Sunday roast at The Oyster Smack Inn, the food was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive.
Lovely lunch with friends at this pleasant restaurant. I had seafood platter as a main, the wife had a very nice Lebanese chicken dish from the specials board and our friends had sea bass , all followed by nice desert of key lime pie and a honeycomb crunch desert. All very nicely presented and very tasty. Mains could have been a little larger but on the whole all tasty and agreeable! Cider is bottled - nothing on tap but cold Aspals or Cornish, so all good.
