Modern extensions house reception, shop, and café with in and outdoor seating providing views across the large and well-stocked garden.Following the lifting of COVID restrictions we have gradually reintroduced the facilities withdrawn during the pandemic, including gallery interactives and children’s trails. Nine of us popped into the museum cafe on Saturday, and were met with a warm and friendly welcome. The gardens were a lovely spot for our lunch there, and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming. A quiet and cool sanctuary away from the bustle, and heat of the High Street. on what was one of the hottest days of the year.
Perfect for a free local and educational visit for everyone.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo

My 4 year old autistic son absolutely loved it as did I. Would deffo recommend!
Such a great museum! Cafe is fab, garden is lovely and all for free! Much underated as everyone goes to Blenheim but this is much more fun!
Fab for kids - dinosaur room and garden. Library is here too with lots of children's books. Lovely cafe and garden with outdoor seating. Also lots of interesting artifacts in the museum. Recommended. Spring flowers are just peeking up through the grass today :
An excellent museum with all exhibits thoughtfully displayed. Very interesting. I wish we could have stayed longer.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Small museum in Woodstock with changing exhibitions, as well galleries telling the story of Oxfordshire. There is a shop and café, and a large garden, including the Dinosaur Garden. The Soldiers if Oxfordshire Museum is on the same site across the garden.
We are local and visit probably every other week as my kids love it so much. It is fairly small but has plenty to keep you occupied for a couple of hours. They've just got all the costumes back out and other items/exhibitions that were put away due to Covid. The Dinosaur room is perfect for younger children up to around 6/7 and there are lots of rooms with drawers etc for the kids to explore. The exhibitions that change every few months are variable, the Alice in Wonderland one was wonderful but most since have been more suitable for adults. The garden is lovely and contained. The cafe is fairly basic but has everything you need and the staff are really friendly. There's also a small library which again is great for the kids. It's also worth knowing that if you have a Blenheim pass it's free to look round the Soldiers of Oxfordshire museum that's within the grounds. This has some really good displays for adults but also caters to children. They also are very good at putting on activities in the school holidays.
Absolutely fantastic find, our 8yo thought it amazing. There was a questionnaire sheet for her to find the answers to and all of it was interactive which she and I loved- we will be going back again!!!
