Good gym with lots of equipment. Suitable for all types of workouts. The pool is also good, but can get a little busy at times. Otherwise, the invigor8 membership options are great and cheaper to other gyms I've found. They are open every day and also have many activity classes to join in with. Would definitely recommend.
I have not been to the Oval for many years until today. The swimming was fine , but unisex changing rooms is not a good way to welcome the public in . Also the changing rooms are appalling , the floors are needing repairs , water on the floors as there is no drain in any of them . Your feet are wet before even changing , and difficult to get yourself dry after swimming . I have used many swimming facilities on the Wirral and beyond, but never have I seen the disgusting state of these rooms . COVID hasn’t made any difference to being clean / hygiene ! It’s not rocket science ..nNo swimming costume extractor either . It’s shameful the Council are not refurbing a well used leisure facility .nWould like a response from the powers that be but I am sure I won’t receive one .nI tried to find an email address to raise these points but there wasn’t one ?????
Staff are friendly and welcoming. Changing rooms in desperate need of repairs, but my children love the swimming pools. Overall,we always have a great time.
The Gym toilets are unisex with no changing rooms. Hardly any room and with only a few lockers, most are faulty. If you go in the afternoon, the toilets are disgusting! Toilets seats all up, urine all over the seats, pubic hairs, urgh! It's impossible to use. They use the radio for music, so you mostly hear the news, people chatting, or the adverts and the same music on repeat. The water dispenser is extremely slow to fill water bottles. Not worth the price. I need girls only spacious, changing rooms with showers and working lockers. I need quick access to water and I need a cool workout track on, not the radio.The radio is on so loud that sometimes I can't even hear my own music
Swimming pool is good. Changing rooms are not. The facilities could be good but there are so many broken lockers and the showers and floor are always pretty grim which is annoying
