I stayed here at the start and end of a birdwatching holiday, only 1 night each time.nThe staff are all helpful and charming.nCheckin was efficient. I noted on both occasions staff being extremely helpful to other guests.nFood was included in my tour arrangements and was good quality and plentiful.nThe bar has a good range of beer and an unsurpassed range of whiskies and gins. The prices are also very good, especially for a hotel.nParking at the rear of the hotel is also available and it's a short walk into town.nCan't really fault it.
We spent three nights in Orkney, and every evening was spent at the hotel bar indulging in a variety of whiskies while marveling at the ancient ambiance of the place. Our bartender, Michael, was truly exceptional and one of the friendliest individuals I've ever met. His extensive knowledge of Orkney enriched our experience, serving as a valuable guide throughout our stay. Today, I gathered numerous shells and proudly brought them to the bar, where Michael identified one as exceptionally rare. This moment filled my heart with joy, concluding my Orkney adventure on a high note.nEven we kept that bar as Michael's bar.nAnd the food was absolutely delicious, I tried veggie burger . It was better than any burgers I have had recently.nYou are doing great job Michael , KEEP IT UP.
No complaints, got a nice sized room and service was done daily. Bed was comfortable. Quiet hotel in a great location In Kirkwall.
Good breakfast in bright, airy garden room. Lovely staff but bedrooms in bad need of updating and no lift.
Went into the bar lounge for dinner as a party of four two adults, two teens on a Tuesday evening. No problem getting a table. Good food, reasonably priced, and a very impressive whisky menu! We all left happy.
