Was looking for a new place for breakfast this morning and boy did I have to look, even google maps couldn’t find this place. My tip add Bannatyne’s gym in maps and away you go. That aside once there this simple bar and restaurant was ok, I’m sorry but I can’t honestly say the decor and environment wasn’t much different to the layouts you find in chain hotels across the country. However staff were polite and happy to help. I had the eggs Benedict coffee and orange juice for £13 a bargain. The eggs were well poached, bacon crispy and muffin fresh. I would defiantly go back but eat outside as the surrounding buildings and houses are a better view than the inside.
Very helpful , attentive staff. We had a nice gluten-free vegan lunch. The vegan sweets contain ordinary sugar. In our brunch we had the non gluten-free focaccia replaced with fries. The atmosphere is very pleasant, calm, non spa guests sitting with spa guests in their bathrobe. The restaurant is in a health's PA complex. Thank you for the nice time :
Amazing food. Friendly staff. A real hidden gem.
The staff here were all so friendly and helpful. While the food was nice, the staff are really what made the experience excellent. Everybody is subjected to temperature checks at the entrance, which is a very welcome safety measure I haven't seen in any other restaurants I've been to recently. Due to vulnerable family members, I am choosing not to eat inside restaurant buildings. After the waiter checked it was okay with the kitchen as they were otherwise fully booked, we were allowed to eat in the outdoor seating area. As it had been raining earlier in the day, he supplied us with an umbrella just in case. The waitresses we had were really friendly, and while we were never neglected, we were given enough space to enjoy our meal. Our food veggie burger and a chicken burger was prompt and tasty. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anybody and I honestly can't recommend it enough. And thank you to all members of staff who made this experience so excellent.
We had cooked breakfast, which was very nice! The lattes were very milky and lacking coffee so I had to order an espresso to add to my latte - I'll order an Americano next time! Parking is easy, atmosphere is relaxed and food was tasty so I would recommend and I would go again.
Went here recently and unfortunately found the experience a little strange. We had booked in advance and upon arrival were surprised to find it completely empty apart from ourselves. We later learned that the neighbouring spa wasn't open on the same day so there were fewer potential guests, hence the feeling of isolation. Given that we had reserved a table it would have been nice to know what to expect although even with more people I didn't expect the music in the restaurant to be so dance-y. Apart from that the food seemed ok.
Next to the Ballantine's spa in Fairfield park, this place was once the house of Doughty, a very good restaurant that unfortunately shut down a while ago apparently. The pub mainly works at lunch time, and when we arrived nobody was in. I get the place a bit desolated, no real style and decor. I appreciate yesterday night was the first when they extended the opening hour, but given the fact we booked they could have arranged the tables with some ornaments and stuff to make the environment a bit more pleasant. Our table was greasy, service not the best. Food was OK though, but not happy to return to be honest. The menu was not up to my expectations, in fact they have to give us and serve stuff from the lunch menu.
Blonde waitress has serious attitude, no manners, Everything was an inconvenience to her. Food took 1 hour 15 minutes after us chasing it. Wouldn’t mind as much, but it was only sandwiches and we had a spa booked! Only 1 drink offered in that whole time, and no check back service. Asked for mayonnaise and got given an empty bottle. Asked for another and got given another empty bottle! Brunette waitress was very nice and apologetic, blonde waitress just through down a pot of mayo in front of me with no word at all! Ciabatta was so hard and dry that I just had the fish fingers and chips instead. Manager didn’t bat an eyelid, didn’t ask how our meal was when she took our money so won’t be returning.other people were being apologised to and I saw someone else send their food back. Go to a pub before coming here for your spa!
We had afternoon tea which was lush - amazing brownie. Really rate their service and their attention to the current COVID restrictions. Very welcoming and professional. Will visit again soon. Thank you
A lovely little bistro / cafe with fine coffee and some really pleasant food options. I recommend choosing a table underneath the wall-mounted TV as some of the booths have uncomfortable seats and some of the tables can feel sticky due to deterioration of the varnish. Hopefully when you read this, this minor issue will have been fixed.
