Orangery Tea House is a spacious cozy spot with a lovely, inviting atmosphere. The staff were friendly and efficient, and our food arrived quickly. We ordered the Vegetarian Breakfast, Avocado Toast, and Salmon Bagel—all of which were delicious. The cappuccino was also excellent. We made sure to arrive early on Sunday to beat the weekend crowd, and it paid off.nHighly recommend for a relaxing and tasty experience!
Friendly staffnnPiping hot coffeesnnGenerous portionsnnJacket potato was super dry could do with some butter on the side but the filling was generousnnGood atmosphere
Not the best experience and quite frankly after a number of years going there, the food quality and standards are very poor. It’s ridiculously busy with queuing of 20 minutes plus. Breakfast cut off is 12pm so if you arrive in good time, by the time you get to the front of the queue they stop serving breakfast.nnToday was a disaster, £44 pounds for food, coffee and two pastries. The chips with the burger were soaked in oil and you can see they had been re -fried a number of times, I would go as far as to say the oil being used did not show or smell to be clean, going off the industry I was formally part off and the burger although edible, was under seasoned and dry at the edges.nnThis would explain that from point of ordering to service of food we only waited 7 minutes.nnThe chips were replaced with chips that were equally as similar. I ate the better ones and left the rest. The two pastries were raw underneath and we left half of each.nnThe drinks arrived 10 minutes after the meals were served. Not ideal.nnThis is not the place it used to be and the head chef and management need to take a good look at themselves if this food standard is acceptable.nnI can honestly say after possible the 5th negative experience there, I will save my money and go else where. This review is not a reflection of garsons, just the restaurant within.
The setting is nice and relaxing, but the overall experience is let down by the food. Nearly £12 for a chicken-chorizo ciabatta that was on the smaller side of portion, and came constructed like a pre-packeted item. The chicken was chopped into chunks, rather than a whole or flattened piece of chicken breast as I would have expected for this price-point. The salad garnish was underwhelming. For clientele who can pay this price-point but also know and understand food, cooking, hospitality, etc --- it is disappointing.
I love the cakes here, especially the chocolate profiteroles cake. To be honest, we've been to the Garson's garden center many times before, but we've never had a meal at the cafe until somewhere around christmas time last year. It was super busy, saw loads of nice dishes from what people had ordered. We had coffee and this lovely looking chocolate profiteroles cake, which is a chocolate mousse cake with profiteroles in it. It looks very mouthwatering and tastes super yummy that we revisit the place again for the cakes and coffees. Obviously, the cakes tastes amazing, but coffee isn't very nice, which is a pity. It would be perfect, If they changed the coffee. Next time we will try their lunch menu as well, cause I can't stop looking when the foods went past us to other tables.
