Fabulous Guesthouse in a quiet street in Ilfracombe. Jill and the rest of the staff are excellent. It has a lovely vibe here. My full English Breakfast was perfectly cooked and good amount. There is a hill to the property and no parking outside but other than that, I cannot fault the place. Clean rooms, towels etc. Also there is wine and nibbles room called the Olive Roomavailable to the public where I enjoyed a ‘Sharers’ board cheese, biscuits, meatcan do veggie houmous etcwith my Son one night. It was delicious! Going back to this Guesthouse, hopefully soon
- Absolutely delightful Guest House in a quaint and adorable little city! - Friendly and helpful staff with useful tips. - Super clean rooms with a warm and inviting atmosphere. - Great sturdy bed with comfortable mattress and fresh clean linen. - A bar just at your doorstep within the Guest House! - Heavenly continental and cooked breakfast with a personal touch. - Loving the no shoes in the bedrooms rule! Coming from Malaysia that's exactly what we do at the doorstep before even entering anyone's house! - Awesome experience with me and my sister who have not ever gone away together! Should do this more often Sis! - Would definitely come back! - Would most definitely recommend Olive Branch. Rooms: See notes above. Walkability: Walkable to many local amenities - - Tapas restaurants, seafood restaurants and Cafes at your doorstep. - Several nearby pubs. - Most importantly within 5-10 minutes walking distance to the harbour and sea. Drawback: Very hilly and steepin many places! - Food & drinks: As above. Noteworthy details: As above.
We stayed here the evening before our ferry to Lundy and it was a wonderful place to stay. Very convenient for the ferry terminal and a lovely breakfast before we set off. We also had a lovely glass of wine in the Olive Room the night before.Rooms: 5/5
Room was clean! Not sure about Bath in room or glass toilet! Maybe 30 years ago! Breakfast was OK but not brilliant...... hotel location is half way up a steep hill with NO Parking! Car needs to be left in public car park in town....... View of sea was a stretch! Very Fawley Towers! Rooms: If your offered rooms 1 to 3 be aware they are at the top of the building up 5 flights of steep stairs Walkability: Not for those of a certain age! Or with asthma very steep hill not advertised Noteworthy details: Rooms were clean and bed comfy but that's about it!
Lovely staff, fantastic breakfast, only gave 4 stars for room as no shower in bathroom just a roll-top bath with a shower attachment which you couldn't use as a stand up shower, the weather was very hot during our stay so realy could have done with showering facility . We where in room 1, not suitable for anyone with mobility problems due to stairs and a very deep bath. The room itself was lovely, added bonus was a fridge, bed linen nice bed comfy, would recommend .
Lovely decor, rustic yet modern and very clean, smelt nice as you walk in, comfortable bed, tv, hair dryer. Nice hot chocolate and biscuits in the room. Breakfast was fantastic, continental and full English available….. I had the veggie breakfast and fully enjoyed it. Would Definitely stay again.Rooms: 5/5
We didn't stay in a room, we had an amazing evening with the new owners who are lovely, for one of our meetings, ate sharing platters which where wonderful and plenty of! Thank you for allowing us to come to your venue!
Absolutely wonderful. Room clean fresh linen and towels on bed. Self coffe/tea Refrigerator came I'm handy it was quite warm and refreshing to have cold beverages watching the sunset. Hostesses warm and friendly. Felt at home and relaxed. delicious breakfast freshly cooked to order. Even the coffee was really good. Refreshing. Definitely going back.
Lovely rooms, we stayed in the twin room. Immaculately clean and comfortable, small bathroom up two steps but very well designed to include shower, sink and loo. Hosts couldn't be more accommodating or friendly! Lost a star for breakfast as the refurb to the restaurant is still ongoing, a limited cold continental breakfast was offered and was fine. Note; steep hill and steep steps through the property. Lovely stay for our coast path walk and Lundy Island visit!
Super comfortable bed, great size room with amazing sea view and very nicely designed with period features. Add to that a great location at the heart of Ilfracombe within walking distance of everything, what else can you ask for? Highly recommended and will be staying here every time we come to this part of the country!
