Booked online for Monday lunch. The front of house staff was great. Very attentive and friendly. Drinks order taken quickly and without being pushy. Food order was taken without us having to seek out staff. Our food was brought in good time too. Both meals of lamb shoulder with dauphinois potatoes & steak and ale pie with mash were very tasty and hot. Waiting staff checked twice to check that our food was ok and to ask if more drinks were needed. This is a great pub/restaurant that we’ve been coming to for a number of years and is doing things right. Please don’t change what you’re doing, you’re doing it well.
Recommended by a family member The Old Windmill didn't disappoint. Good atmosphere, quite busy when we visited, booking was a must. The rustic feel from the 18th century aesthetic and decorations made the Christmas vibe all the more pleasing. The meals were well portioned and very tasty, one of our party is Vegan, all were catered for. We felt looked after, staff were friendly and the service was prompt. Only slight niggle was a Steak and Ale pie had mushrooms in but wasn't mentioned on the menu.
This is a good spot for a Sunday roast, family lunch and a good pie! The menus change regularly but the portions are really good sizes, tasty and filling. It is a dog friendly place. They are accommodating with high chairs for children also. There is also A good outdoor area with seating and ample parking too!
Gorgeous pub in the middle of a picturesque little country road. They make a fantastic cappucino and their Sunday lunch looks amazing - we didn't eat but we will definitely be going back again to do so! Helpful, friendly staff too.
This pub is only a few miles away from where we live what a suprise it was super venue very much family orientation,but the staff were excellent with the food being very good really worth a visit it's also got a lovely sunny garden.
Lovely qauint little pub in Hanningfield, the service was prompt and we were easily accommodated. The food was AMAZING the Lamb shoulder, and the accompanying butternut squash puree was out of this world. The only complaint I have is that having waited quite a while for the starter, the main was brought out while we were still finishing it. In future I will be ordering only my starter to begin with to give me a enough time between each course for the previous dish to settle. Otherwise was an excellent experience and we will be going back
Nice garden, ideal parking your horse on when riding past! Staff very welcoming. Food very nice at a reasonable price.
I booked a table here at lunchtime in the week for 4 people. Never been here and it was beautiful. Lovely scenery. Lovely,homely pub feel. Courteous staff. Food was amazing. Definitely going back for more!
Beautiful pub, lovely atmosphere. Staff are very friendly. You get a free triangle of flapjack with your coffee so I was very happy!
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal here today. Staff were friendly and efficient, despite the restaurant almost bursting at the seams when we arrived.
