Nice small intermediate restaurant. Good food with lot of selection and reasonable price. Very good service by staff and owner.
I was walking in Harrow on the Hill with my wife and young children twin boys who were sleeping in the pram and noticed this restaurant. Looked at the menu on the window and there appeared to be decent options. Stood by the entrance and waited for the waiter/manager to come to us as he seemed to be busy. After a couple of minutes i grabbed his attention and asked him if ok to come in. He looked at us and then the pram and said the kitchen closed at 2.30, it was 2.39!! No offer of let me check if something can be rustled up or sincere apology. So we didnt go in and now wouldn't go if I was paid to.
Love this restaurant. Food is always excellent and service efficient and friendly. Fixed menu or à la carte. Fixed menu has a very good selection and most people should be able to find something that they like. Good varied dessert trolley too. Also had a bottle of the House sparkling rosé, which was first-class.
We were invited here for the birthday of a dear friend. The food - for starters, two of us had fish soup, one vegetable soup, one French onion soup, while the youngest chose the lightly battered calamari - all the choices were pronounced excellent. For mains, two had venison, one confit of duck, one lamb shank, and our young friend went for the lasagne. I have to report we all enjoyed ourselves. We passed on the puddings except the youngest had Cheesecake as we had brought a rather large birthday cake, for which our waiter provided plates, and yes the service was very friendly indeed!
Friendly staff, warm and welcoming. Excellent prices. Only problem... no disabled toilet access... i am sure that is the same for many restaurants on the hill because of their historic buildings.
Neither my partner nor I had eaten at The Old Etonian before, but after friends had raved about it & dined there on special occasions we joined said friends for delicious food & excellent service. Some will find the decor dated, but we found it charming; besides we were more interested in the food/drink than the furnishings
Beautiful experience I stay for 1 night! What a lovely bunch of people very helpful! The hotel was situated like in a little village opposite a school so I felt safe! Rooms Clean everything you wanted for your stay was perfect! Thanks guys see you soon
A dated restaurant, great initial feel, and then a rapid downhill experience, bad service, drab food, 2 of us had Dover Sole, clearly this is not a dish to have in this place. My Cauliflower cheese was not heated! Desserts were fun, but all in all, a lousy meal, bad service and we wont be returning.
We really enjoy coming here. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. Has a dessert trolley which I haven't seen in any other restaurants for a long time!
Food is very good, staff is excellent! This is a very professional restaurant with a good menu and selection where you find yourself very comfy like at home. Definitely a recomendation for everyone
