Had an amazing time at The Old Bookshop while visiting Bristol. A great, buzzing atmosphere as soon as you come off the street. If you can't get a seated table, there are standing tables near the bar which is a nice touch Loved the quirky artwork on the walls and pictures. I've always been a big fan of German beers in particular wheat beers - and this is a great place to come, if this is your thing. One of the best selections in the UK I've seen. The Jacob on draft was delicious, along with the usual German classics see the Augustiner in the photos. All of this was complemented by the delicious vegan tapas-style dishes. I don't always eat vegan cuisine when I go out but I guarantee even meat eaters would enjoy this feast. The staff were very friendly and the clientele just generally very pleasant. I'll definitely be back to visit The Old Bookshop next time I'm back.
Nice place to unwind and chill after a long day! Great beers and even better range of food! Highly recommend
Excellent pub great selection of real ale on, they do some really tasty vegan food, friendly staff, a nice atmosphere,
I was in The Old Bookshop on Tuesday 25th October with my husband to enjoy a pint and a curry from Naasto Baasto as we'd previously enjoyed the food when it was being served at another location. The food was tasty, albeit the portions were small. The beer was also good. My only issue is that we asked for the Tiffin Tuesday deal, which from the menu on their blackboard and print out seems to be available in the evening, along with the rest of the evening menu. However the man behind the bar said it was only available during lunch. Can quite clearly see that the Tiffin Tuesday is supposed to be available all evening. A bit unclear really. Hopefully just a misunderstanding but after checking the menu a few times I did feel a misled
Pub created from - unsurprisingly- an old shop, with small bar serving 1-2 cask ales and several keg on tap, plus bottles, including Belgian and other European. It has a number of drinking areas, mostly small and cosy with a variety of tables, chairs and stools. Didn’t check if they do food. Very popular so can get crowded at busy times and you may have to stand until seats become available. Fun and quirky.
I've been here twice and I can't explain it but everyone is excessively loud. Everyone in there just shouts at the person sitting right next to them. We had to leave as it was just too loud. Other than that though great range of tasty drinks on offer here.
I always feel welcome when I stop by for a pint. Great selection of beers, good food and a chilled atmosphere! One of Bristol's best in my opinion.
Fantastic small pub with a rotating food options, always with lots of vegan options. The beer menu is pages long! They are also dog friendly with a small garden out the back and seating in the front as well.
Really delicious food from Naasto Baasto, so much so that we had to order more! Really impressed with the range of Belgian & German beers and lovely natural wines. Great friendly service too. Looking forward to trying the extensive mezcal options as well.
What an absolute gem of a bar. You can guarantee a warm welcome, excellent music and an unreal selection of beers. I really wish this was our local!
