We went in randomly one Sunday afternoon and are so glad we did! We opted for the Ocean Platter - Wow!! It really was amazing! The whole plate was fresh and delicious! Massive prawns, mussels, calamari, scallops, grilled fish! There are a variety of side dishes to chose from; we opted for salad and baby potatoes which were just as tasty! For drinks I had a smoothie which again, you could taste was fresh, my partner went for a beer which he enjoyed. The whole place is clean, warm and inviting. The staff were fab, although we did find getting their attention a struggle when we needed help with our order. That being said, everyone was friendly and very helpful. Excellent food and very reasonable prices Will definitely be returning!
We walked in thinking we had made reservations but it seemed the restaurant didn't us down. However, the hostess was very kind and offered us a table near the front door... we didn't mind and were happy we got seated because the restaurant was already packed. For Starters we ordered the pan fried shrimp and the calamari. Oh My! The shrimp were succulent and the calamari were tender and both were very yummy. For our entrees, we ordered the Fish Cakes and the Sword Fish with orange sauce. Both were delicious and the flavors exceeded our expectations. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere but a first class service... absolutely top notch. The prices are fair and affordable for this top quality seafood. This was definitely a dining experience not to be forgotten.

The menu offers a fantastic selection of seafood options, each of which is expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. I particularly enjoyed the platter, which featured a generous portion of prawns, calamari, mussels, fish and fries, it was the perfect choice for sharing with my friends. What a fantastic place.. we have eaten sea food from all over and have to admit it was very fresh and satisfying. We booked our table and confirmed with staff. On the night we got seated on arrival with the arrangements made. Oysters from Colchester was a hit the person who had them said better than the ones eaten in France.. and very fresh. We had a good selection of different fish.. and squid which again was cooked differently but was said to also be very good. The salmon and plaice was also very fresh and very good and also the sea bass! New potatoes very good and the chips also better than most places. Staff very friendly and helpful. Overall a very good experience.
We had a wonderful meal here for my husbands birthday on Monday 6th June. I don't actually like fish so was a bit anxious as to what I could eat. Well I had the most amazing fillet steak! It was cooked to perfection, better than some I've had in London steak restaurants!! My husband really enjoyed his fried skate wings too. The food here is amazing and we highly recommend the Ocean Fish platter to everyone. The portions are generous and the staff are very friendly. Thank you for a lovely meal!!
Great service, Food excellent. More than Fish and Chips, but if that's what you want it's great! A Mediterranean vibe to other fish dishes. We enjoyed three courses and a great coffee to end. Interesting wine and beer! Will definitely go again

I was eating at the Salt House in Ipswich and I asked the staff where they would go in town for a meal and they said Ocean Fish Platter. So we went and oh boy... it was sensational!!! I had the fish and chips and breaded haloumi. It was so good. Everyone loved it, the service was immaculate and I can't wait to go back. You gotta eat here. It's great.
What a place, great food nice atmosphere even if it was a little loud. Service excellent food exceptional. We went here to celebrate my daughter's 30 birthday as we thought we would try something different. This place ticked that box, very busy and very popular place to eat if you like seafood. They do a token selection of none seafood items but why would you go here if you are not keen on seafood. For a party of eight all having a starter and main course the total cost was £223.00. None of us had room for pud so you do get a lot, you have been warned. The only thing I will say is, it is loud just with people chatting but we did go on Saturday and the place was packed so what did we expect? Would definitely go again if I'm in the area.
Fantastic fantastic fantastic. Tried this little gem for the first time tonight and have to say we were overwhelmed with how good everything was. Update: have been back twice since and loved it. Staff are so nice and food is exceptional. I can see why it's the top rated restaurant in ipswich.
