Can't rate the rooms as we only visited for lunch. Friendly service, good options on the menu, particularly the children's menu! Food took a reasonable amount of time, and reasonably priced. I had a hot beef baguette and fries, and it was nice. Kids had pizza and fries, and sausage and mash son wasn't keen on the mash. Did find it odd that they put a side salad with balsamic dressing on the children's plates though.
Called in for dinner while staying in Alnwick. Did not book but we were made very welcome & shown straight to a table. Staff were very pleasant & nothing was too much trouble. The food soon came & it was excellent & very hot. You should definitely make it for at least one meal here as you won't be disappointed. We had the burger & lasagne but there is a large choice & very good value for money.
Stayed here this weekend good location just a short walk into the torn centre. Food was delicious and not too expensive. The staff were great friendly quick service and nothing was any trouble. Room was clean, large bed very comfortable & large towels.
Booked an overnight stay with our 2 dogs . The room was extremely well equipped and the bathroom lovely .. very convenient to getting the dogs out for a wee etc. However the room smelled heavily of damp and due to my asthma I didn't sleep well at all . I feel this was because of the damp spores in the room although you couldn't see any damp. Dinner the night before was okay although I have never had such a tiny portion of mushy pease in my life , about a tea spoon full . Cod was rather thin too. Breakfast was good . The young man who served breakfast was most attentive and a really good server . Very pleasant . All the staff we encountered were attentive .. overall I would stay again if I didn't have that particular room due to the 'damp' smell.
Very friendly and welcoming staff. Lots of dogs in during Sunday lunch and the staff all seemed keen to interact with them.nnWe had two sunday roasts. Okay it wasn't the greatest quality ever, but the portions were very generous and the yorkshires were a sight to behold.nnWe saw it advertised as a carvery and occasionally live music. No sign of either but still it was a pleasant Sunday afternoon pub lunch.nnGood for them
