This place is awesome and I'm writing this review reluctantly, as giving away my little treasure might now draw hordes of visitors :. You can choose to sit on the decking, which has recently had a nice gazebo style tent added for warmth and shelter, and which is overlooking the port or on the first floor terrace. The views of the port are stunning, whether during the day or at sunset, with small boats gently rocking on the calm waters and two loved up swans leisurely swimming by...It gives you that special holiday feel, all in a little Riverside part of Soutwick. The beers are lovely too, although we haven't tried the food yet, and the service is really friendly, almost like a village pub yet with a touch of urban sophistication. Highly recommended. P.S. there's free parking too or make it a welcome stop after a long stroll along the beach.
Nice location but quite basic. I enjoyed a quick drink and some.food but was lacking for the price. If you like the sea and hit happy hour it's cool if not there are a thousand better places in Hove and Brighton.edit ...I came.back and was excellent so have upped the review to a four. Meena served us fantastically.
Dog friendly pub with free treats for 4 legged customers. Had hoped for something light for lunch but menu was more main meals so just had a drink. Staff very friendly and helpful when asked for a water bowl for our dog. Nice marquee overlooking the water but more of the industrial end of town
Was sceptical that there wasn't loads of variety on the menu.....don't be put off, they have perfected what is on menu Our main was the fish stew just wow and Montgomery burger which had bags of flavour and great texture Was quite when we visited so can't comment on busy times Lots of outdoor seating looking across marina
I only had the pleasure of visiting this great venue as my cousin is a local & it's one of her haunts. Really amazing fresh food cooked to perfection. Has an ok selection of drinks, in my opinion it's more wine bar than pub based, which is a shame as a few more ales & beers would compliment the food menu nicely. I visited just before Xmas & it was quiet, we sat outside in the marquee as it wasn't that cold, cushions & blankets on the benches were a nice touch, along with the Xmas tree I don't know how busy it is on a warm day, but I can imagine it could get rammed as outside space is kinda limited? There's a nice view of the marina, and the only downsides would be that the marina is in the middle of an industrial port, take the boats out of the view & picturesque it isn't. Also let down by it's lack of parking, but that wasn't an issue for us. No issues with the service, staff or food though, really nice... Can't wait until my next visit on a warmer day! Not far from the coast path into Brighton.
Had a beautiful day here yesterday for a family wedding. Fab venue made completely amazing by the whole staff team. Nothing was too much. They were so friendly and welcoming. Helpful, attentive, kind and soooo blooming patient. If you are looking for a venue. This is it. Thank you so much for making this day so very fabulous!
Went a party last Saturday here. The room was really nice just right for the amount of people coming. About 30 ish. Unfortunately it turned out a disaster as the food didn’t come out until very late and when it did it was awful. I believe it cost £350 but there was hardly any food there and what was there wasn’t very nice. . I would say if you want to have a party here do Your own food and don’t get ripped off.
This little gem of a pub has sadly taken what was a very good menu and made it quite bland in choice and taste. The legendary fish pie is nowhere to be seen and to add insult to injury, the Sharps Atlantic Pale Ale has gone off the taps too. Staff still friendly as ever though. Need the old kitchen back..
Cold food, sticky un-wiped table, over loud music. I don't think I have EVER waited so long for a meal to be served. Plus items not available on the Specials menu. Photos online did not resemble the premises either. So all in all not a pleasant dining experience. I would not recommend eating here at all!!!
Do not book a party/event here! The catering the pub uses is awful and so expensive. Went to a party recently, the little food that did come out was so late and not even half of the food what was paid for came out. The staff didn’t have a clue what was going on. Their manager was refusing to answer calls and is now ignoring messages after the complaint. Total shambles.
