Great pub. It's really what a pub should be. Warm and welcoming with a good selection of drinks and fantastic food. It's a cosy pub with a lovely fire. Visited a few weeks ago with a couple of friends and our dogs for food and a few drinks. Our visit today was for Mother's day and they had no trouble serving some really lovely food during a busy service. There's a farmer's market coming up and live bands planned. Well worth a visit with family or friends. Highly recommended. This pub deserves to do well.
Had a Sunday lunch here. Have to say it was extremely good. The roast potatoes were amazing and we got a good portion of meat. We got plenty of gravy with our meal and were told we could have more if we wanted it. It's a very friendly pub and the staff are lovely.
Been a few times now, massive portions, very tasty and well cooked as well as reasonably priced and great service. Dogs allowed also, not a problem for me but if you're not a pooch lover maybe not your thing
With my car breaking down conveniently just outside the New Inn; me and my friends thought it was only right for us to pop in. The staff were understanding of our situation and kept coming up to us to check how we were getting on. Whilst there, I had fish and chips the chips were incredible, as was the fish! A great sized portion also and my friends had a sandwich and sticky toffee pudding which they both throughly enjoyed. The service was quick and incredibly friendly. After a few hours of waiting for the repair man, we got to know the bar lady who was kind enough to make us a posh coffee in a cafetière and the chef. The pub had plenty of life, and it was lovely to see all the neighbourhood dogs in there too. After an unfortunate breakdown, it actually led to a lovely evening, and I can confidently say that my friends and I will be returning.
Wonderful food and atmosphere. Great pub which has had plenty of ups and downs over the years but Chef James has definitely taken it to a brilliant place. Highly recommend.
We had a fantastic meal followed by a live band. Great night and very welcoming hosts
Great pub, food is delicious and it's also dog friendly which is a bonus for us.
Excellent Excellent Excellent Just the BEST! The food was the BEST we've tasted. In our opinion it was by far the BEST Sunday roast in LS17 It was simply unbelievable, brilliant, spot on very high quality! Excellent Staff were so helpful, worked well as a team, they were atentive making our time there enjoyable. Excellent service. The Landlord and the landlady have worked really hard at being able to accommodate a great atmosphere, nothing was too much for them both to deal with. They have built up a lovely atmosphere. Just simply EXCELLENT
First time I've been to The New Inn, but it won't be the last. Had fish and chips and the fish eS large and came with plenty of really nice chips. Fries if you are reading this over the pond! Also, dog friendly, which is always what we look for.
This pub is the pick up point for the Emmerdale tour. The New Inn needs a thorough clean, ladies loos were shocking. The service staff were lovely. The Sunday lunch was terrible. The meat, vegetables and Yorkshire pudding all cold, also the kale was undercooked and I like my veg firm We had to ask for our meals to be reheated, waited quite sometime for them to be served again, making us feel rushed to eat because we had less than 10 minutes before we had to board our tour coach. We complained to the manager who was quite unresponsive to our reasons, although she immediately refunded us for the 2 cold Sunday lunches £18 per meal. For anyone doing the Emmerdale tour on a Sunday, I'd advise to find another place to dine on route if you want a Sunday lunch. I've given 2 stars rating, one for the lovely waiting staff, another for the very nice glass of Rośe blush wine I had.
