We dropped in here for a coffee break as it's such a superb location being near the junction of everything. It's mostly patronised by truck drivers, but we were made to feel very welcome by the lady at the counter. Although we didn't eat there, I noticed the food came quicky and in the most generous helpings. The toilet was nice and clean. The menu had both hearty and healthy options. Price was most reasonable too. There's overnight accommodation too and a bar. Highly recommended.
Stopped there for lunch whilst waiting to meet my brother in law... Very reasonable pricing, with prompt service....food delivered in a 15 minutes...not long at all. The portions were good with the food describable as honest good food....rather enjoyable actually. Being so close to the motorway and centrally located, makes it the ideal location for a stop over. Definitely not just for HGV drivers,as attested by the number of car drivers and motorcycles in the dedicated carpark. Highly recommended.
Plenty of space, nice and quiet, food not bad, cant understand why we still cant have proper fried chips , decent alcohol on tap ,friendly ,
Apart from unhelpful night security fella who simply sat and watched reefer artic looking for freezer unit area only to stroll over when eventually found last available space to say, "can't park there mate"...but hey, like lotsa security folks, bark lots when unwilling to be pleasant or helpful!Rooms: 2/5
I was driving wondering where to stop for something to eat when I seen a sign for this place. Decided to give it a try & pulled in. Felt a bit out of place as I turned into the lorry park wondering if I’d look a bit daft parking my car next to wagons in a huge HGV carpark but noticed an area for cars. Perfect! Came here not knowing what to expect, but oh my was I pleasantly surprised! Walked in and the first thing I noticed is that I didn’t have to wade myself through fryer smoke like most truck-stop cafes. The whole place is absolutely immaculately clean & tidy, testament to the hard working staff they didn’t stop the whole time I was here! I was surprised to find there was a wide range of people coming & going whilst I was here. 2 different groups of suited & booted business men & women, a group of paramedics, workmen, and of course truckers. I ordered a big breakfast , gave them my name and waited. Shortly after my name was called and breakfast bought to me. All I can say is WOW! I can honestly say its the best fry up Ive had since I can remember! Everything was good quality and cooked to perfection! Even the egg was perfect which is always a roulette in most places. The fried bread wasn’t saturated in fat and was delicious. I usually can only eat a bit of fried bread before feeling a bit but I ate the lot and enjoyed it! This place sets the bar, other similar business owners should be getting their notepad out and taking notes. Clearly well managed, the staff are so friendly and hard working, the food is literally spot on. Oh, and you don’t leave smelling like a chip pan! Looking forward to returning!
As an HGV driver, it was on point. Stayed overnight and had a nice beef dinner it was just a shame the beef was very thin but that's just my preference. Had breakfast in the morning which was okay. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I had a bit of time to get my unit washed at the truck wash but they were too busy chatting with each other and going slow on the truck in front of me so left without getting my unit cleaned but apart from that it's a good truck stop.
Always a good supper and safe parking . Pre booked my space as I had a high value load . Guys are very helpful and welcoming.
Ok for a night out. But the food needs to be better. Beef burger was bloody awful. Cheapest burger they could find, chips were pale and oily. I did complain when the server asked how it was, and I said awful. The response was. I could always go somewhere else. I think it was tongue in cheek. But what he should have said was. I’m sorry it’s there anything I can help to rectify this.
Waited in a queue to order food. It was delivered to my table hot and as I expected. A very homely experience. Bounus, there is a laundry there too.Service: 5/5
It's been probably 25 yrs since I last visited the Hollies, when it was known as greasy Lill's. Not now. Food was good, no greasy breakfasts in sight. Good choice of food, quickly served and reasonably priced. Best of all nice and clean, as were the facilities.
