A fascinating walk around Glasgow's "city of the dead" with commanding views across the city. Full praise to the Friends of Glasgow Necropolis for their efforts in halting the decline of this city treasure, their renovation plans and general promotion of this wonderful historical asset. A visit is a must for anyone seeking an understanding of Glasgow's great industrial, commercial and artistic endeavours, much of it is bound up in the lives of the families who lay here. It's also a very pleasant walk!

A serene, somber and eerily beautiful place to visit - highly recommend starting here and moving over slowly to the Cathedral and then the Provland's Lordship - the view from the top of the hill is spectacular on a nice day. Bring walking shoes!
