Immerse yourself in Iron Age life, as you meet the resident Celtic clan & view their period dwelling! Had such a great time visiting Navan fort, such a beautiful location. Its nice that the fort can be visited free of charge, I booked a guided tour and I would highly recommend it, the lady giving the tour was excellent very knowledgeable and I came away knowing alot more, the visit to the replica hut was excellent and the guide Darragh was brilliant at playing the part and engaged everyone making it so much fun. Would highly recommend a visit here, a great place for a picnic too.
Absolutely stunning place. Lovely and very knowledgeable guide shows us around and answer all questions. Very friendly volunteers who where dressed up made huge positive impact on the experience. Kids few weeks after still talking how fun it was and now they love celts. Highly recommended and we'll be definitely be back next year.

This is a really important and interesting historical site. To get full benefit I would recommend taking the guided tour which includes a tour guide explaining the mythological, historical and archaeological aspects of the site and a visit to the living history site where you can learn about how the iron age inhabitants lived. The on- site cafe is lovely, has great local food and is worth a stopover by itself. There is also a souvenir shop with something for everyone and a very impressive selection of books on Irish history and mythology.
Tour was excellent both from guide who have us initial info then handed us to a guide in the old house dressed for the age , giving us an insight into life in those times. It was followed by a walk around the area and a small climb to the top of a mound where he played us some music and I danced a jig! All for £8 as a senior. Great value. Had to wait 2hrs til tour so popped into Armagh nearby to the town museum and went back......added to our trip.
We spent a whole afternoon here! Loved it! Took the tour, which was fantastic, but you don't have to, there is access to the site without having to pay for the tour. There is ample parking, open toilets and a cafe. After the tour, we wandered round reading the information boards at our leisure and had a picnic. Will be back.
Navan fort is a great place to have a walk or eat at the cafe. The cafe has good food and it has somthing like a little museum. The walk is a good place to look at all the cool stuff in it. My granny brought me. I am eight years old.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait

Absolutely brilliant stop. Collum is an amazing guide, the round house folks are engaging and funny, and the entire site is full of wonder, mystery, and a sense of presence from all the people who lived and worshipped here through the ages.
