Quite a large collection of planes, helicopters, gliders, and other vehicles from across the history of army flying. The displays are well laid out and are accompanied by explanations and stories to go with the items. There is everything from complete aircraft to the smallest item, taking in uniforms, weapons, and other accessories or items. The aircraft are packed into two large hangars in an interesting way that tells the story they represent. Young children are catered to with a teddy bear hunt- which is quite tricky. There is a large cafe selling the usual fair which also has a large terrace overlooking the active military base, so during the week you may see various military aircraft - both helicopters and fixed wing planes taking off and landing. A remote control model club also uses the airfields on some weekends. You enter and exit through the gift shop which is well stocked with model air-planes, military themed toys and clothing, along with a large selection of books on military aircraft. It's not a cheap visit, but you can spend most of a day having a good look around. There is a free car park. You can visit the cafe without going to the museum. Wheel chair access is possible to most of the museum and there are lifts between floors.

Great museum . Filled with exhibits. Ideal for all ages...The cafè attached to the museum is also well worth a visit. Excellent quality food. Cooked fresh and great value for money. There's also a viewing platform over looking the airfield.

The Apache Cafe (ONLY not Museum itself). Been passing this cafe on a number of occasions and never had the time to stop. The day I did, I wish I hadn't! Rude staff had forgotten to take down the breakfast menu and replace with the lunch one but somehow it was my fault for not knowing! Ordered ham, egg and chips. Ham was nice, egg white was more runny than the yoke and the chips were about a child's portion. With a name like The Apache Cafe I expected to see breakfasts called The Chinook... Double of everything. The Apache... Fully loaded etc. Could be so much better if run properly. Doubt I will ever return to find out.

A great family outing for young and older children. Lots of exhibits, a ball pit and other toys, and a great cafe (which you can go to without visiting the museum) which looks out over the air field and has indoor and outdoor seating.

Fantastic museum. The quality of the aircraft and the detail in the exhibits is amazing. Really well laid out. You can also go in a helicopter. The cafe is reasonably priced. Theres a outdoor play area for the kids. It also has a active airfield at the side of the museum with good viewing points from the cafe. Well worth a visit.
