Great location for all amenities. A clean room and comfy bed. Hot shower, tv,towels and a full length Mirror a bonus. Stayed for 2 nights and even had towels changed and bed made...great service very polite staff and also helpful. It is a budget hotel so didn't go in with a 5* Outlook....but it looks very nice and inviting and our room was spotless. Weather fantastic...didn't need a fan in room as could open window and high ceilings in the spacious room we stayed in made it very comfortable despite the heat. I would recommend parking on the road as the car park is very sloping and we did have a minor issue. No effect on our lovely stay. Keep up the fantastic work you are already doing and thank you for your wonderful hospitality.....you are all very pleasant and when asked for anything they can't do enough. Thank you for all your hard work.
Not sure why this place is attracting bad reviews. The room was clean and comfortable food available pleasant accommodating staff. It's easy to moan about a place but I think the price should reflect people's comments. Ask if you want an extra pillow ask if the duvet isn't thick enough I am sure they would be happy to oblige. Definitely I would stop again
Staff very helpful and friendly. The rooms have been refurbished. However there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. No soap or shower gel in bathroom and no hangers in the wardrobe or even a hook to hang a coat on the door. If you wanted a coffee or tea you need to down load an app and order it through that. £2 for a cup of tea. Ordered it but had to fetch it myself. Nice coffee lounge and bar area. The basics were missing.
A stunning building, clean, modern interior. I like the new bistro they have there. The staff are so,so welcoming & go above & beyond for guests. Nothing is too much bother. Curtis really looked myself & family last night. A very kind young man who went out of his way to make sure we were all okay. We are all staying in October again & hopefully Curtis will be there again. Lovely hotel, friendly staff, great location, comfy beds. What more could you ask for?
Everyone was so friendly kind and caring, we have been here 3 times in 4 weeks for 3 nights. The manageress helped us out with advice on the local area . To have a clean room. kind and lovely staff that you couldn't fault. Jacob was amazing and also Curtis. Definitely would highly recommend . Well done to your all.Rooms: 5/5
Would not book here again. Bed was too small for 2 people and uncomfortable. No kettle or hot drinks available in room. Went bistro for coffee at £2.50 each. After first coffee was made the machine broke and had to wait 10 minutes for an instant coffee with no offer of reimbursement as I had paid for a latte. I'm not fused about 50p its the principle. Went back to my room to find no hot water for a shower, when my partner went to reception 3 other guests were complaining of the same issue, to be told that side of the hotel has that problem. ‍ Clothes were damp after hanging in the wardrobe for 2 nights. Yes it's a budget hotel and price but when you don't even get the basics it's not acceptable!! No hand soap in the bathroom,
We held a family party in the main function room and also stayed at the hotel. The room was just nice for our party 60ish people the parking isn't great but this is only a small inconvenience as onstreet parking is close by. The staff were great, special mention to Jacob how did an amazing job and helped our every need throughout our stay. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable, I would recommend you bring a spare pillow if you want more than one. Would definitely recommend, the staff our a credit to the hotel.
After reading other people's reviews I was sceptical about staying here but was surprised! We arrived to a welcoming reception and a lovely bubbly welcoming receptionist who gave us lots of information about the hotel etc. We went up to our room and it was spacious and airy. May have recently been renovated. The room was clean and smart. The bed was comfortable, we had a pillow each but asked at reception for another one each and they happily obliged. The staff were incredibly friendly and happy to chat. The female receptionist was really helpful and friendly sorry we don't have your name but you were working at about 7pm on Friday 30th Sept- Tell your boss you're customer service skills are amazing! We ordered cups of tea and they were brought to our room within 5-10 minutes of ordering and were nice, not weak or nasty tasting. Shower was hot and good pressure. Not necessarily what we didn't like about the place but just observations. The curtains are nice but really thin so light comes through easily, if staying in the summer could be woken early. Shower/bath mixer was a little confusing to use, maybe a laminated "how to use" sheet could be handy. Close to Barry shops and only a 5 minute walk from Wetherspoons.
Paid £100 for a room that was right over the function room which didn't end until 12-30am, noise was horrendous... no tea/coffee facility in room to compensate for a dreadful nights sleep. Upped and left first thing and will not return. Do not book if you are looking for relaxation and comfort!Rooms: 2/5
We had the most horrendous stay in this hotel. First of all, there was about 6 parking spaces available for 40 odd rooms, even though parking is advertised online. When I rang and asked about where to park, the unhelpful man behind the desk told me it was tough and I had to park on the residential streets. When we drove into the car park we nearly wrecked our alloys as there were 2 massive holes in the floor. When we managed to find a space and went in, the man had a fag hanging out of his mouth in the reception, great first impression. We checked in, then I asked about booking a table for food. I was told they weren’t doing food tonight due to no stock, all lights in the restaurant were off. The man sarcastically said “we have chicken strips if you want them” while laughing. Next when we got to the room it was disgusting. Makeup on the head board, the curtains, light without a bulb in it, TV didn’t work, crack in sink, window in bathroom looked like it had never been cleaned, toilet seat wobbly and patch of rust in the bath. Also you could hear everyone’s conversations, footsteps, and even when they were in the shower from other rooms. I put in a complaint form and management replied to me stating I was lying ,there was nothing wrong with our room and the bistro was open and I should have asked a member of staff to assist me with booking a table for the bistro. I did in fact ask a member of staff who told me that it was shut?? This is the worst place I have ever stayed and will definitely never be returning. Unhelpful staff and extremely rude management. It doesn’t look anything like the pictures!! Do not waste your money!
