Mosslands is a successful community school which provides a truly comprehensive education for some 947 boys aged from 11 to 19 and which achieves excellent results at GCSE and post 16. The large Sixth Form of over 222 offers places to girls, and prides itself on the range and quality of its academic and vocational provision. On average, over 70% of our Upper Sixth leavers progress to higher education each year.
We are an innovative school – for example, our College/Work Experience programme for 15 year olds provides an alternative to the traditional GCSE provision for appropriate youngsters in this age group.
Mosslands is well regarded also for its provision for pupils with special educational needs. Currently 257 pupils with varying special needs receive an education which is appropriate and helps them to achieve to the best of their abilities.
The school aims to provide a range of opportunities in a caring and structured manner. We believe that all young people have an entitlement to learn in a safe and non-threatening environment.
