The Moon under Water really surprised me - I was expecting it’s atmosphere to be less warm than what it actually was. With the Christmas decorations, it looks so festive and homely. The food was great, service was amazing. All on one level which is ideal for a Wetherspoons. A lot of history around the pub’s building and area which is displayed all over the walls.
It's a Wetherspoons, much like many others... bar and toilets all on one level, which is different to many other 'spoons.nnReal Ale selection is respectable though can occasionally suffer from lack of barrel changeover,, once a beer is gone it doesn't tend to be swapped to a fresh one that day.nnSmall courtyard garden out back which catches the sun in summer.nNo car park, which is a bit of a bummer.nnOtherwise, staff are friendly and welcoming, place is always clean and tidy.nnReal Ale prices are slightly higher than other local spoons. Dudley & Oldbury, but still good value for money, especially on mon-wedsnnnWatch out for the tree at the back of the garden with the funny scent! ... lol.. smells like,,, well, have a sniff and draw your own conclusions. lol..n
Popped in for brekkie before our drive back home to Surrey. Lovely little spoons. The booth seats are oddly very low to the ground. Had the breakfast fiesta, which was delish. . Interesting history surrounding this building and area regarding the titanic.
Great pub, lovely atmosphere, great staff, food and drink good, the only criticism I can make is it's so cold in there. If you are sitting enjoying drinks you need to keep coats on because there is cold air blowing on you at all times even in November.nWould be a lot more comfortable if it was warmer.
Beautiful wood interior ,roaring fire.spotless when we visited .great breakfast & staff loved it
