We stumbled across The Mill Garden quite by chance and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip to Warwick. Tucked away at the foot of the castle, for a modest entry fee in aid of charity you can explore a beautiful English cottage garden with equally beautiful views of the river and castle. We visited in August and the summer planting was absolutely stunning. Apparently it's equally impressive when the spring bulbs are in bloom.
I recently visited the Mill Garden, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. This hidden gem is a perfect haven of peace and natural beauty. From the moment you step in, you're enveloped in a serene atmosphere that feels miles away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The garden itself is meticulously maintained, with vibrant flowers, lush greenery, and charming water features that create a picturesque setting. Every corner of the Mill Garden offers something unique and beautiful, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll or simply sitting and soaking in the tranquility. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the fresh, invigorating air that instantly refreshes your senses. It's an ideal spot to relax, unwind, and reconnect with nature. The owners of Mill Garden are incredibly kind and welcoming. They clearly put their heart and soul into maintaining this beautiful space and ensuring that every visitor feels at home. Their passion for the garden shines through in every detail, and they are always happy to share insights and stories about the plants and the garden’s history. In summary, Mill Garden is a peaceful, beautiful retreat that offers a refreshing escape from the daily grind. The combination of its stunning environment, fresh air, and the warm hospitality of the owners makes it a must-visit. I can't recommend it highly enough!
If you visit Warwick give yourself some time to come and visit the Mill Garden. This small family garden is really unique and special. We paid £3 each which is an absolute bargain. We left a donation later because we enjoyed it so much. It was also really special to meet the owner. She told us the story of the beginning of the garden and it's transformation to what we see today. Such a place of peace and calm, highly recommended.
Excellent little out of the way garden overlooked by the castle. Very well maintained gardens brimming with plants. A great place for castle photos too!
A beautifully tranquil spot nestled between the castle and river Avon. Perfect for taking time out and just admiring the garden or getting those up close pictures of the castle.
Amazing hidden gem great management and reception. This is one of the most peaceful places I’ve been to in a long time. Highly recommended.
This is the BEST privately owned garden we have ever visited. Set in Warwick town centre under the castle wall. Such a variety of plants, nearly everything in bloom, no pest damage. Such a delight to either sit and have your work lunch or to visit like us, or as when we were there have your wedding photos done. This remarkable aged couple do all of this for charity, and delight. I am so jealous of this treasure. There are no toilets or coffee shop and parking is 5 minutes walk in St Nicholas Park car park. Not ideal for letting little kids run around as there's open water.
We were in Warwick in August and stumbled across the garden . Let me start by saying I never could have ever expected the beauty and peace I experienced with my partner when stepping into the gardens. We found several spots to sit and just enjoy the sites and sounds from benches and there was a small shelter that we sat under that I would love to recreate at home. Blood pressure went way down. Lol . The women who welcomed us were so lovely and helpful. When we go back we will definitely return.
A little slice of heaven here on earth for only £3 adult admittance, with some proceeds going to maintain the garden, the rest going to charitable causes. Just past the gate you are greeted by a charming elderly gentleman seated on a bench, the owner of this garden. The views are astounding and the planting schemes lush. Seating aplenty throughout the garden to take in the views. My absolute favourite garden I have visited.
This is a privately owned garden that you can visit for a small cash-only donation £3 in September 2023. You get good views of one side of the Castle and the River Avon. Playground: None Restrooms: None
