This lovely charity based café come restaurant has become a firm favourite in recent weeks.nnThe food is always of the highest quality and the presentation is always imaginative and of a high calibre.nnThe service is consistently responsive, polite, pleasant and conversational.nnThe atmosphere is very good and there are times where it is exceptionally busy but this does not detract from the experience at all. Booking is definitely advisable though.
Me and the hubby enjoyed this month's themed night. Seafood on the menu and a good choice for both the starters and the mains. I ejlbjoyed the Thai fishcake with sweet chili dip and mixed leaves whilst the hubby opted for crispy prawns on a bed of tomato brushetta. Mains for his nibs was a huge chunk of steamed cod on a bed of linguine and curried mussels. I had the sea bass with fondant potato's with seaweed and a tomato compote. Desert was a trio of deserts which included a passion fruit cheesecake, a macaroon and a chocolate pot...beautifully serves and a plate of cheese and biscuits. My only criticism 6 crackers wasn't enough for the generous portions of cheese. Washed down with a lovely malbec and rhe evening completed with a couple of coffee's. A beautiful venue amazing staff and all set in the tranquil grounds of the hospice. An absolute gem to visit.

We visited for afternoon tea, the service arrival was good. Quickly seated and drinks ordered. The afternoon tea was a mixed bag, sandwiches were tasty, the two savory options were ok but we wouldn't want them again. Can't tell you what they are as we weren't told and to be honest we didn't ask Good variety of small cakes, the cheesecake option was the best. The scones, although we ate them, did not have the texture of a scone.
Lovely place to stop, super friendly service and tastiest hot pot I have ever had. Sat outside with beautiful surroundings. Lovely walk in St Catherine's park after.
