We had a garden room view which had everything you needed and a lovely balcony. The food here is excellent, absolutely first class, and the service is impeccable. The gardens are very interesting, even in October. The trip down through the gardens to the private beach is a voyage of discovery. The way back a little slower due to the incline, but there are several paths and it is all maintained. The beech is small with pebbles, but it is a super place for exploring with caves and rock pools. An amazing place to stay.
My husband and I popped in for coffee. The staff without exception were all courteous and helpful and well dressed. We ordered a cream tea with coffee. It arrived promptly and was delicious. The outlook was beautiful with lovely gardens. The public areas were clean. However the hotel is very tired looking. My husband and I both used the facilities which were clean and tidy, however neither of us found anything to dry our hands on, all the towels had been used and the baskets for fresh towels were empty.
We wanted a relaxing few days away in lovely surroundings. Hotel Meldon did not disappoint. The gardens are stunning and lovely to wander around. We had a garden room with a balcony which gave us amazing far reaching views of the grounds. However for us the restaurant was a revelation. Phil and his team in the restaurant were great, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Phil went above and beyond to make it a really great dining experience, he is a true asset to Hotel Meudon and I couldn't recommend him enough. The food was the best we have ever been served in a hotel, it was stunning. Charlotte Vincent the chef produced plate after plate of totally delicious food everyday. Food & drinks: Phil and the restaurant team were fantastic. Charlotte Vincent the Head Chef produced plate after plate of amazing, delicious, high quality food.
A truly excellent hotel which not only warmly welcomes you as a guest but takes time out to think about those canine companions that you bring with you. Those fine little details makes the Hotel Meudon a very special place indeed The levels of service and the quality of food is outstanding. Great rooms, fantastic gardens and a private beach makes the hotel very unique indeed. A big thank you to all of the staff who made made us feel very welcome - oh and of course ours dogs of course....
Afternoon tea was a delight after walking part of the very muddy coastal path. Making our way up through the gardens in the rain was like entering a different world. The staff were very friendly and welcoming showing us to a lovely table in the lounge. The tea was proper loose leafed and the scones freshly baked. We had a look downstairs at the dining room which overlooks the garden and promised to come back to visit.
Really nice people the restaurant staff were amazing running the place and such a relaxing location. Excellent quality food at all meals, a short car ride from Falmouth or Maenporth beach and an easy walk down to through the amazing gardens to a small shingle beach. We had a great time here and were stunned at the great value.
What a special hotel! Stayed here for one night and from the moment I arrived and the service was so welcoming and friendly. The hotel is dog friendly, which is great. My dog even had its own bed and welcome treats from the hotel. I had evening cocktails in the garden watching the sunset. Evening dinner was spectacular. the gardens are incredibly special and a short walk down to the private beach. It’s a real treat. This hotel far exceeded my expectations and would highly recommend to anyone.
Stunning location, close to the beach, lovely walk down to the beach via the many paths through the private gardens. The gardens show how Cornwall has a great sub tropical climate. Well maintained with some lovely species. Really friendly, great service in the bar, restaurant and at reception. Well kept internally, with the rooms to a high standard in terms of decor, cleanliness and amenities. Full tea and coffee making facilities with fresh milk and short bread. Lots of into within the room re history and local area. Stunning views from the balcony.
Probably one of the best hotels I have ever visited, the food is so nice and I love the 5 minute walk down to the beach!
Lovely afternoon tea! We had gluten free and vegetarian options without any fuss. Particularly enjoyed the gluten free scones! Beautiful surroundings and amazing views. Well worth a visit.
