Good pub grub and selection of ales, nice sitting out area at back despite being on a busy road. Place has character. Service was poor ordered food but order was forgotten and place was far from busy. Maybe barmaid was having a bad day as everything else was fine.
Whilst the staff of the pub behaved in a friendly and helpful manner and the steak sandwich was excellent! the room itself was a huge letdown. The entrance was filled with chairs and a mattress, and the gate and garden which provided access after hours was filled with rubble and buckets of used cigerrates. The room itself was dirty, with marks all over the carpets, walls and bedsheets. The main issue however was the smell. It was powerful, and pungent. When the issue was raised with the staff, they behaved sympathetically. However, the landlord was extremely rude and bordering on aggressive. We left within two hours of arrival, as the smell was unbearable.
Our two night stay was extremely enjoyable, the staff were courteous, attentive and keen to make our stay meet our expectations. Both our evening meals were enjoyed on at the Inn, one supplied by a mobile authentic mobile pizza van and the second in the restaurant, where we enjoyed a freshly cooked meal using local produce. I can thoroughly recommend this Inn for a comfortable, relaxing stay. Well done an thank you to you all.
We were very disappointed Firstly they did not have any record of our booking they did find us a room. It was very cold, 4 times we told them , they did eventually get the heating working After another few hours still cold No food available on the premises. We were told if we wished for a drink we could get one only while the wake was still in the building as they were only open for the funeral . We did not stay any longer so had to find somewhere else for the rest of our honeymoon.
This property is very run down compared with the pictures on the web site. Very deceiving. The room was dull and was dirty. Skicky mess on bedside table. The toilet seat needs changing, mould in shower could be easily fixed. On the plus side the room was warm. There was a TV but no remote. No I wouldn't recommend. Over priced at £59 per night.
Ale selection, choice was non existent, only one available a dark ale on three pumps but two turned away. Food? No! Ambiance, none. Wine, yes we have Pinot Grigio but it's Argentinian. Yucky. Had one drink and then escaped.
GREAT pub! We were staying at the local camping site and arrived too late to cook. We arrived at the pub at 8:40pm hoping to get some dinner before the kitchen shut. The staff were all so lovely & friendly. The food was fantastic! We highly recommend this lovely pub.
Popped in for a drink mid afternoon on a Tuesday so expected it to be quiet. We asked for the tonic not to be poured into the gin but it was anyway and had to ask for it to be replaced. Otherwise pleasant, felt like a real pub with little nooks. Toilets clean and serviced. Nice appearance from the outside. Well positioned on the road as a going home from a day out good and drink stop.
The outside looks a bit tired but don't be fooled. Inside there is a well stocked bar with real ales and the food is very well prepared with wide choice. Their burgers are home made and they have some nice Asian dishes too, the beef rangdang was very good.
Visited here because of a funeral wake. It seems very nice, very clean. The staff were accommodating to our requests. We were not able to sample their menu but the food on offer was very tasty and had variety.
