Lovely welcome from when we entered, food order taken and drinks served to us. We went for the Full English and were not disappointed. It came out hot, perfectly cooked and was of good quality ingredients. Fee looked after us so well and made sure we had everything we needed.. Will continue to be a return customer. Great staff, great food and great prices.
Typical chain style pub as belongs to the Hungry Horse group. Good selection of food and service was quick and the staff friendly. Food was well cooked and we did not have to wait too long after ordering. As far as I could tell would be good for families or just couples as had plenty of seating for both.
We shared the 3 types of wings to start but found them very bland and without much flavour. Our main courses were ok but the special curry that I ordered wasn't at all special and very Basic, didn't understand what the extra £3 was for to make it special. Such a shame as lovely pub, Joe the waiter was very polite and attentive but food had no real appeal.
Bright, welcoming pub - part of the Hungry Horse chain. Huge portions, great value. Quality of food is typical for a Hungry Horse make of that what you will, but I'm happy with it :-
Great food friendly staff quick service.also has a good size carpark and outdoor
The service was very good friendly and quite quick the only down side was we weren't told that they didn't have everything on the menu and one of my party chose something they didn't have . The food was OK but nothing special 3 stars for the food the the waiter on Sunday was so nice and friendly they got 4 stars over all
The Martletts is great for any occasion we pop in after work, with the kids, with the family - any day of the week and always have a great time. Food is always great and well cooked and plentiful. It’s great value for money as part of the Running Horse family and the kids are always made to feel welcome. The staff are so friendly and welcoming especially Fii. Well worth a visit!!
I don’t usually write reviews, but honestly I have never experienced such poor service. Firstly there was only 1 poor chap at the bar for the entire evening, clearly overwhelmed. There was no heating so I had to sit in my hat and coat the entire time. We had a pre-booked dinner and so I had some expectations. We got there for 6 and dinner arrived at approx 7ish. My food was cold. Our plates were not cleared until gone 8 after asking if someone could clear it and give us our desserts. The response was ‘oh we were waiting for you to say something’ … I’m sure something is somewhat backwards here. I have never ever walked out of a restaurant but despite waiting over an hour for the desserts to come out I gave up as my taxi was booked for 8.30. The desserts came out at the same time as my cab showed up, but I didn’t have time to eat it there so I had to ask for it to go. I got a small bag, shoved the cake and ice cream in so I could take it home. Honestly I have never once experienced this. Needless to say I don’t think I will be coming back.
Welcoming, and friendly staff. Food fine. However, the outside was really untidy with lot's debris from the night before I appreciate we went on New Years Day still lying around, including a broken off wall light laying on one of the is in desperate need of an overhaul. The inside looked ok, but we did see one large area of mould by a window, and the ladies toilets were covered in mould. Come on Green King, spend some money on this landmark pub.
Visited last December and all was great. What a difference a year makes. Should have walked out after visiting the toilets...the smell was awful and they need refurbishing. The food was average as was the service. Didn't feel at all welcome. Won't be visiting again.
