Stopped by The Malt House for a bite to eat and had a really enjoyable visit. The pub has a warm, relaxed atmosphere with plenty of seating and a traditional feel. I ordered the breaded scampi with chips, salad, peas and tartare sauce, and everything was fresh, hot, and well cooked. The scampi was crispy on the outside and tasty, while the chips were perfectly cooked.nnI also enjoyed a refreshing Thatcher’s cider, which paired nicely with the meal. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the venue was clean and comfortable.nnA great spot for a casual lunch or drink. We’d happily return and would recommend The Malt House to anyone looking for good pub food in a pleasant setting.
I was looking for somewhere near Tamworth to take my Wife and Sister for lunch. I found this place using Google. What we found was a great place for a meal. From the decor with lots of interesting prints to the attentive and efficient staff everything was exceptional. There was a good variety of dishes on offer and the meal deals were excellent value for money. We were served quickly with piping hot and very tasty food. The only thing I could not understand was why there were so few fellow dinners. It was 1:15 on Tuesday and the sun was shining so perhaps people had decided to visit other venues but those that did missed out on a lovely lunch. We will be going back again when we are in the area and if you are looking for a really good pub meal I recommend you try this place. I’m confident you will not regret it.
Really not great. We had Indian starters and mains, and the food wasn't anything to scream about. The waiters were very inexperienced. We had dishes served with no cutlery, no spoons. Had to ask for plates. Got asked if we wanted a dessert menu when we finished the starters.nnThe whole place looks very tired and is need of a good clean. The restaurant felt very dirty, there was old food residue in the crevices of the table, menus were grubby and torn, stains on the seats, stains on the walls, ripped wallpaper, to name a few. Just not a nice place to really sit and have food.
Very nice place for a meal out! The food was good and the staff was very kind!
First visit last night for a friends btrthday. A fabulous restaurant. Food was exceptional plenty of choices for veges which makes a refreshing change. Lovely decor and friendly efficient service. Prices including alcohol were reasonable. Would certainly recommend and we all said we will be returning again. Thank you!
