Words are hard to describe this place as its marvellous place to explore and would require more than one visit to this place. Definitely its a great experience for all in particular if you like history, gardening, flowers and enjoying the great outdoors. Mixing it with great views and walks, not so great for those who struggle with uneven surfaces and walking great distances. But don't let put you off as you can enjoy the grounds in small doses. Beside the grounds and woodlands to explore there is a gift shop, places to buy food and other refreshments as well as toilets. It is best if you pick up a map of the place as you can plan where you like to see first. The staff are very friendly and very helpful....willing to give you direction if you feel lost and will soon get back on track.
10/10 for this place. Lots to see and do, you’ll be exploring for a full day if you do the whole park. There are easy and more difficult paths, something for everyone of all abilities. We took a picnic but also had delicious ice cream too. There was also lots of other food options including a BBQ eatery. Finding a bench to sit and rest was easy. Very dog friendly which is so lovely.
Visited with my husband and 18 and 20 year old children and two dogs. We all really enjoyed it! There was too much for us to see in one day and would definitely return. Everyone agreed that they enjoyed the jungle area the most. We took a picnic and had coffee and ice cream which was nice. There is also a lovely shop selling gifts and nice foods .
Really worth visiting. Unfortunately the weather wasn't our best friend when we visited but it just means we have another excuse to visit when the weather is better! There's plenty of walks which means you could easily spend the whole day here. I personally loved the rope bridge and the figures in particular. I think the best thing however was listening to the birds and seeing the sheep and lambs. The Wildlife Hyde was brilliant too!
Amazing gardens with an amazing story. The gardens themselves are so unique with the overgrown rhododendrons due to them not being managed for so many years while the gardens were lost. I imaging they will give an amazing display when you get the wall of them all in flower together. The woodland walk and the longer trails are great to see a bit more but take good walking footwear. I walked around five miles to cover almost off of the tracks. The jungle has some great sights to see along the boardwalk and I suggest detouring off it down the small tracks to really get stuck in to the area. The rope bridge is great as long as you don’t get very slow people on it causing a massive queue. The cafe has great tasting cakes and nice coffee.
Lost gardens was one of the most lovely, spacious and well kept gardens I've ever been to. Massive amount of paths to follow that you can easily walk around all day and have lovely walks past lakes and all different types of flowers which are lovely to look at with additional accessories around the area. On various occasions such as October time Halloween there are activities around the gardens to do which is great for younger children. The shop is great and has a lovely layout which enables you to easily see everything and the farm shop sells the best food
What an amazing place with such a great history, we had a good talk with one of the gardeners who told us a lot about the history of the gardens and how the Eden project was created and the link between the two gardens. You will expect to be there for a good 4 hours and more to walk around the main paths, but you could easily spend the day. The variety of plants and trees is amazing, and the different gardens. It was a fairly hot day but the jungle area was nice and cool in the shade and some amazing plants. There is plenty of places to take a rest and have a picnic along the way.
We came back at Christmas time for their lights display and what a treat! Booking easy, parking easy... Great start! We thought it might be crowded but the slot system is super functional so you can enjoy the trail in peace. It is already a beautiful place at day time but at night, it is a different kind of magic... What a night, perfect to get you into Christmas spirit! Went with my teenage boy and that cheered him up! Lovely marshmallow to roast mid journey, and breathtaking remembering stars... A must do!
I have wanted to see the lost gardens of Heligan for a long time now. What a fantastic place, we visited in October half term so visitor numbers were lower, the gardens and other areas were amazing, even though it was not the best time of year to see the flowers in all there glory. However there are some very interesting plants and planting. The cafe was reasonably priced and the food was good. Plenty of toilets on the routes round which may in peak season need queueing for. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the site. We spent a good 4 hours wandering around exploring. Well worth the visit I was not disappointed at all.
I really enjoyed visiting the lost gardens. There has been a lot of thought put into accessibility So as a mobility scooter user I really appreciated this. There are 3 distint plant zones: garden, jungle, lost valley. All of these offer a great variety of plant life. I was only able to explore the garden section of planting due to site topography, but this was still well worth the visit. There is also a small farm area championing native breeds, and a large open play area with some amazing views. Both of these areas where also accessible on my scooter. This place is well worth a visit.
