We stayed in Summer and had such a fabulous time decided that we would come back for the NYE Gala Dinner. We stayed 2 nights and are glad we did! The dinner was a absolute triumph, such a cleverly crafted wonderfully delicious menu, very well executed. The service, atmosphere and food were faultless, I have eaten worst food in Michelin starred restaurants! What can I say other than what exquisite food and service, what a team! You have really excelled yourselves and thank you for making our NYE so special, it bodes well for 2023!
Booked for lunch, my wife had the fish and chips, which was massive, I had the fish board, which was plenty of it, everything was very tasty and fresh. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Our 3 dogs were made to feel very welcome and given treats. Would definitely eat here again, thank you. Oh and the local beer wasn't bad either
Had a meal here for our wedding Anniversary. Had a wonderful meal, couldn't fault it. The manageress was wonderful as my husband had booked us on line with a similar named restaurant elsewhere by mistake. A table became available so we were fortunate. Daniel our waiter was so kind, friendly & attentive yet not too much. The food was amazing, we managed all 3 courses because it was all about flavours & not about huge portions. Lemon sole, lamb shank & hot chocolate fondant pudding delicious! Have booked again for January already.
We only had a Christmas lunch meet up with our friends but the staff in the dog friendly area were very attentive and friendly! They were able to give us extra time at the table so we could swap presents . The food was excellent and great choices. We will definitely be back! ck. Thanks again to thedog friendly team!
What a surprise this was. Very good food, excellent wine list, fabulous service and super dog friendly We booked a table in the “dog room” for an evening meal. There was plenty of space between the tables and lots of very well behaved dogs. Even the staff were super dog friendly. Importantly… if you don’t like dogs there are plenty of dog free spaces in the restaurant too. The menu is varied and the quality of the food is excellent. This really is a gastronomic pub. Coming from the “Saaf” as my friend says, I was very pleasantly surprised at the prices. Even my local mate thought it was good value and thats saying something!! The wine list is varied and extensive. We had a very decent Chilean Cabernet for £35 but if you are that way inclined there are some very top end fine wines too. Finally - the service here needs a special moment. Our experience was enhanced by our server Ryan. He knew the menu really well, had tried all the dishes we asked about and was really friendly without being intrusive. Importantly, he was also absolutely brilliant with our dog. When in the area, we will most definitely come here again.
We went there for afternoon lunch and had a fabulous meal. Venue was fantastic really comfortable and really well setup for meals. Staff were marvellous very friendly and attentive to people's needs. The service was excellent and the prices great plus excellent selection of wines, spirits and beers etc. The menu was good with lots of choices from starters to desserts . Thanks for making our day so special.
Great hotel! Lovely rooms. Beautiful food. Staff were fantastic! Ryan and Sharon in particular made our stay one that we will not forget! 5 star & highly recommend! We stayed in the Lord Crewe room and you can see the castle from the windows, truly amazing weekend break Rooms: 5/5
Stayed overnight and was pleasantly surprised at our room which was lovely, spacious and clean. Staff were amazing as was the food. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be returning. Rooms: 5/5
Amazing home-cooked food in a wonderful location. My husband and I decided to stop in Bamburgh for lunch on our way home from Edinburgh. I had the mussels and chips followed by cheese, and my husband had roast beef followed by sticky toffee pudding. The food was excellent. I’d highly recommend The Lord Crewe.Service: 5/5
Terrible service. I arrived with a reservation as we had travelled from London to visit the Northumberland coastline. I was asked to sit at a table that was made us uncomfortable and was by the kitchen door. I asked if I could move to another table the lady replied 'thats for guests at the hotel' another staff member moved us. We were not offered any water on arrival, our starter arrived still with no water, wine or complimentary bread, we had to ask for water, wine and ask for bread to go with the soup. The restaurant was not busy but we were very disappointed with the poor service and lack of communication by staff. They made no effort to make us feel welcome. But the restaurant does produce good food which is such a shame when front of house undo the good work.
