The place was nice and lovely to see an open fire on a cold day. The service was very slow and as we had two small children in our party we had to keep asking for things. The food was hot and tasty I had the roast chicken, the chicken, roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were delicious but the vegetables were very hard with the carrots being inedible as raw in the middle. It's nice to not have over cooked vegetables but almost raw one's are not good either. Deserts were lovely but after waiting 15 mins for someone to take our order my husband went to the bar to ask if we could order. It's a shame as it was my daughter's birthday. Not sure if we would go again we will have to see.

Party of eight had our pre booked Christmas meal here. All three courses were excellent. Considering another huge party was being catered for the food was served on time, hot where required and courses at appropriate time intervals. Bar service was under pressure but understandable with the volume of people in the pub. 
Friendly and enthusiastic staff and the final bill was very reasonable,

Our meal at The Long Dog was above satisfactory, however not quite exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, and the girls serving were very pleasant. Unfortunately, one of our starters came out much later than the other, meaning I was forced to start and finish before the other arrived. Other than that we enjoyed our meal and the prices were very reasonable compared to other restaurants in Waddesdon.
