For a small extra money I got the executive room. Completely stunning. Every detail was just perfect right down to the pillow firmness. Remote control fire had four different settings for flame colour and different temperatures. Food was just perfect and staff were first class. Everything was completely top notch. Made welcome and well definitely come back

The staff in the hotel could not do any more for you. They are polite and willing to help in any way they can. The rooms are clean and tidy with all the touches that come with a nice hotel stay, chocolates on the bed, writing paper and shoe shining kits but to name a few. The rooms themselves I would say were built at least 10 to 15 years ago, you can tell from the design that they are in an older style. However the furniture and desks, cupboards etc are all well made and look like they have been replaced fairly recently. The breakfast and dinner options are great, especially if you have a gluten intolerance, the breakfast buffet has a separate gluten free section and they will collect the bacon etc fresh for you. The dinner menu has a variety of options that are all labelled gluten free.

Me and my partner went to the Sunday evening carvery expecting great things from what we had read , when we arrived we walked through the bistro which looked like a pleasant place with a good atmosphere then we got took through to a large room where the carvery was, the atmosphere felt tense and awkward. Both me and my partner felt out of place and uncomfortable. Before we had to chance to sit down a waiter was over taking our drinks orders without even giving us a drinks menu! We asked her if she could come back in 5 minutes and then got up to get our starters , the woman appeared by the side of us and asked us if we had chosen yet while we was filling our plates still, we felt rushed and mithered. The starters tasted lovely and fresh however the actual carvery was dry and bland and we ended up leaving almost full plates. The whole experience left is feeling a bit uncomfortable and as soon as we left I felt like I could relax. Too snobby for a carvery , we felt judged and looked down on. Also they might want to keep an eye on there staff as the waiter who gave us our bill stunk of alcohol and had a chewing gum in his mouth I'm assuming to mask the smell.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Lodge hotel, it has has everything you require for your stay. We stayed in the annex in a executive room this room is very spacious with a very comfortable super king size bed, a lovely bathroom with a large walk in shower and nice sitting area. The room also has a large flat screen tv, coffee machine and normal tea making facilities. We stayed 2 nights and dined in the hotels restaurant for dinner for both nights of our stay, everything was delicious and the portions and quality of the food was excellent. We will definitely be back and we will be recommending it to others.

Nice clean room, plenty of space! Bed was super comfy. Staff couldn't be more helpful! Keep up the work👌 would definitely recommend the Lodge Hotel! 👍
