Understandably on this gorgeous day there were no tables left outside, but loads available inside. Fast & polite table service, and the coffee was great. Sadly the Key Lime Tart looked better than it tasted a little bland - but the vanilla ice cream was....well - creamy! However, I was told that the Banoffee Tart was "to die for"! Parking: Parking at The Meadows is now chargeable.
We went to the lock tea room at Heybridge on a Saturday morning. We parked close-by in the car park behind the pub. The menu wasn’t clear about the cream tea if it said two scones my partner and I would have shared one between us instead of ordering one each. Lesson learnt. The sandwiches were lush and came with crisps and salad. Again we could have shared a plate between us. Lovely atmosphere in the tea room. You can purchase the tiptree jam products and there is a toilet for customers. Lovely views of the sea and boats. An outside area for customers that wish to bring their dogs and have a coffee. Heybridge is a lovely place for bird watching and for a lovely walk with beautiful views. Will be back soon.
Visited with my partner for an afternoon tea for two. Staff were very welcoming and service was quick. The afternoon tea was great value for money, and the flexibility of drinks as part of the deal was great! We especially loved the toasties and the carrot cake. Location is also idyllic, especially if you get lucky with the weather.
Stopped here recently on a bike ride for a coffee and ice cream. Lovely spot right by the water. Nice and quiet. Friendly helpful staff. Recommended.
Nice view from the outdoor seating area. However our lattes was alright but tasted burnt, not the best. Which put us off from having lunch. Was not impress when the front of house, made us felt uncomfortable moving tables. As it was super sunny, took advantage to seat under the large umbrella area. When we arrived we were not shown to the table. So thought we could seat where ever, as it was not busy. Unsure if I'll go back again...such a shame though.
Omg, amazing! Food, staff, the view!! Thankfully it was a blissfully sunny day, giving us a great view, you could mistake it for the Med. Love the fact it's associated with Tiptree jam/sauces etc product range. Only down side is not being able to book a table, but never mind, we British love a queue anyway!
It's a lovely friendly cafe, they do good good and drinks. Staff are friendly. Really nice down there Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options Kid-friendliness: It is kid friendly and safe for them Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchairs can get there.
Very disappointing - We waited longer than expected for two flat whites. They arrived in two large cappuccino sized cups! The coffee had no 'rigid volume as a flat white should be, the milk had hardly been steamed. A bad tasting, weak and water consistency drink. I personally collected the coffees from the barista myself the table wasnt mixed up. We didn't have time to complain in person. If the staff are not trained to make coffee, they shouldn't put the skilled barista drinks on the menu. Who's going to order food next time, if you can't get a coffee right?
Enjoyed a very nice coffee and slice of cake while in the area. Friendly staff, nice outdoor seating area. Parking close by in public carpark. Only £2 / 3hrsFood: 4/5
