Went for afternoon tea with my husband for my birthday. Lots of food. Too many sweet things to eat in one go but boxed the rest up. Food ready pretty much straight away but we did book. Welcome was friendly, atmosphere was great, room was lovely and price was competitive. Would recommend. Would go again.
I really can't recommend The Lion & Swan highly enough. I have now stayed there in both the main house especially beautiful and outside accommodation. The service is superb - welcoming, friendly, and attentive. My evening meals and breakfast have also been excellent both in terms of the beautifully cooked dishes, and top-notch service. Just a lovely experience all-round.
We dined at leone restaurant next to the hotel. The decor inside is quite nice but unfortunately there was multiple birthday parties on and it was very loud. Could hardly have a decent conversation. The food was nice but really overpriced. Not worth the money. The waiter who looked after us was brilliant and very attentive. Would maybe give it a second go
Nice clean rooms , staff very friendly and helpful, both evening meal and breakfast were excellent, plenty of gluten free options including a draught beer
Really like this pub as it's central in Congleton town with car parking available.nI've never stayed at the hotel but I have had a meal in the restaurant which was very good, with good service.nThey do have a good menu with plenty of choice so would recommend.nAlso had a drink in the bar which is nicely decorated with comfortable seating, we went as they have a few hours on a Friday from 6.30 to 9 for half price cocktails.nDisappointing though as not much choice on the cocktails & only the house wine included in the deal so the Merlot wine we chose was much more expensive.nDo check the prices when buying drinks as we paid different prices for the same order, not good.
