Such a great location right in the heart of Shrewsbury surrounded by lots of independent shops and boutiques. This is a gorgeous old building, oozing with old fashioned charm but it has certainly seen better days. The decor is tired and the corridors and rooms in particular need a refresh although this place is enormous so it would cost a fortune. My bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean, toiletries supplied, towels fresh, and the breakfast was tasty. Friendly and helpful staff as well. It was ideal for a night as we were at a works Christmas do. If you are looking for polish and perfection, this is not it. But for a good night's rest, comfy bed and ancient surroundings, this place is just fine.
The Lion Hotel is in a beautiful old building and fits very well in Shrewsbury on one of the main roads through the town.nThe room was not 5* but still a nice place to be, very was very comfy, shower was nice and hot. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast was very good.n£5 parking wasn't terrible, but free parking would have been a great addition.
Great location and staff. Room was comfortable and well appointed. Could do with a bit of an update but all was fine. Handy having a car park and the breakfast was great too. Would use again if needing to stay overnight.

A quirky guesthouse in a beautiful building, sadly in need of sympathetic refurbishment. The rooms and general decor are quite tired and dated, with obvious signs of wear and tear. Breakfast was good and the staff friendly. Great location and a solid budget option.
