Wonderful spot, 5 minutes from my house. One of the best off licences I've ever used for wine and only official 'tasting room' in NI I'm told, but I could be wrong. Staff are excellent and really know their wines, this gives you the chance to experience a huge range for yourself. Great upstairs bar too and very well priced. Highly recommended!
Brilliant little bar, just a good pub. It does things simply but it does them well. Lots of nice seating for groups of people and a decent selection of beers and ciders. Great to have a proper local in the village
Wonderful experience at sipster...very calm and quiet atmosphere
Good selection in the off-licence, but buyer beware, pricing is incorrect throughout the store especially high priced items, charged an extra £21 on an item already over £150, told the till pricing is the price they go by and when phoned for a refund told can only get in-store credit rather than money back. Don't think I'll be returning anytime soon unfortunately. Genuinely disappointed
Platters were good although last time we had one each this time 1 between 2 much bigger platters tho. my only complaint is the high seats I have mobility issues and climbing on to high seats caused cramps and numbness I basically stood for the hour we were there would have stayed longer if there had been better seating great to be able to sample the wine
Great selection of craft beers in shop, and wine all of a high quality. Staff are helpful, pleasant and knowledgable. But I have been in a few times lately and the staff seem to be going downhill, not even as much as a smile whilst being served, wouldn't hurt or they are standing having a full blown conversation - not work related whilst serving me at the till - only looking toward me to tell me how much it came to, and continued their personal conversation, handed me my items and continued to chat. No thanks, nothing! Pub upstairs is quiet and cosy when I've been in during the day, really like the rooftop! But pool room needs an update to stay in line with rest of bar.
A great idea. Buy and taste in house before shopping. Great selection of wines from around the world, beers too. The staff are keen, knowledgeable and friendly. Recommended.
The Sipster, previously known as The Lighthouse. I visited last week when visiting relatives after quite a few years of being overseas. Pleasantly surprised at the selection of beers as previously the Lighthouse had not much of a selection. Fast service, the lads behind the bar were on the ball, no hanging around for drinks. Very nice atmosphere, chilled, relaxed and no rowdiness. Looking forward to my next visit to the Sipster. Well done guys.
Stumbled across this place by accident many years ago and still visit regularly. The staff go above and beyond and have never failed us with recommendations. Fantastic selection of spirits, wine and beer to cater to all budgets. We're lucky enough to live locally but still occasionally order online- deliveries have always been fast and in one piece. Cheers!
This review is about the bar upstairs rather than the tasting room and off licence downstairs. This is a great bar with very well priced beer compared to the city centre bars and a decent enough drinks list. They have invested in an outdoor seating and smoking area especially with ongoing restrictions. I sat inside but it felt cozy and safe with QR codes on the table to order and table service. Pleasant staff too. Great to have it local to me.
