Great to be back at the Leaping Hare, Wyken Vineyards and the team didn't disappoint. A chance to enjoy a glass of Wyken Pink in beautiful surroundings. Perhaps best appreciated in less colder months. For those wanting to grab a gift there is a convenient shop attached, a bit pricey though.
Beautiful grounds, a really great shop and the Leaping Hare restaurant was fantastic! We had a two course lunch, and it was absolutely exceptional. The trout starter was the standout, but all dishes were delicious - we also had some lovely Wyken white wine and it all cost the same as very average Mediterranean restaurant we went to the day before in Bury St Edmunds! Couldn't recommend this place enough, delightful.
Absolutely love it here, don’t live far away and have planned to go for ages for some Pizza. It was delicious. The farm shop was lovely and bought a bottle of wine, I still haven’t tried it and I hope it’s good. I would also like to go back and see the garden plus the woodland walk. A vineyard tour is also on my list. You can see the vineyard on the road from Ixworth to Walsham Le-Willows, it puts a smile on my face every time. So beautiful. I may even try out the restaurant, that’s meant to be very nice. But overall just coming for the pizza is definitely worth it! Plus I love the Llamas with the sheep!
A great venue for a special meal. Warm, well laid out so you have good spaces between tables. Friendly staff & food was excellent . Reasonably priced & we will return.Food: 5/5
We went at the end of November it was busy but not overly so. Great produce, some fairly priced and it's always good to see new local produce. We gathered from the traders that they have bigger days with more traders so maybe choose your day. Definitely bring boots and leave washing your til the day after Vegetarian options: Whole vegetarian stand as well as vegetarian options at many other stands Parking: As expected as you delve this far into the countryside, try as they may, really muddy entrance and roads bring boots and leave washing your til the day after but it's nothing out of the ordinary and looked well maintained besides
I cycle from Bury on a Saturday morning as there is a produce market - everyone is frightfully nice and the cakes baked that morning are absolutely gorgeous also there's a pizza oven that pumps out mouth watering aromas. Have a wonder around grab a coffee and cake and chill...Food: 5/5
Not the service or quality of food we were expecting. Lunch service abruptly turned into afternoon tea with tables being stripped around us whilst we were still eating. My mussels were served, I had to ask for a spoon and the waitress came with a teaspoon holding it by the bowl and looked at me with contempt when she was corrected, with no consideration for hygiene. An open salt pot was on the table with a cleaned mussel shell to serve. Again no consideration to hygiene and cross contamination of germs. Certainly not good value for money.
Great place. Food was really delicious. Service was OK, but it could be a bit more attentive. Beer war warm. Overall experience was very positiveFood: 5/5
You go to a restaurant and risotto is on the menu. You know it can be a disaster...or it can be sublime. We the mushroom risotto was absolutely sublime.... completely umptious. On top of that everything else was bang on. A very good lunch, thank you
A hidden gem nestled in the slow, Suffolk countryside! A 400 year old barn, beautifully converted into a country store and restaurant, using locally sourced products as much as possible. 4 acres of garden to explore during the spring and summer. Shetland sheep roaming in the field adjacent to the restaurant. A local farmers market runs every Saturday- Wooster's Bakery stall is a must visit, the buttery, flakey crossiants are to die for. The gardens have been open free of charge for Lockdown 2.0, so I decided to pop in for a little fresh air and to enjoy the autumnal colours. There's an outside cafe offering away a take away service. I thoroughly enjoyed a hazelnut latte and a chilli honey and salami, stone baked pizza...and can't forget to mention the lovely team of staff, attentive service which always comes with a smile. There are benches dotted throughout the grounds, where one can sit and enjoy the tranquility and find rest during these uncertain times. A wonderful afternoon spent.
