Been to King William Inn many times and it was always great. But! It's been sold and bought by a chain. Not as good I'm so sorry to say. Staff aren't as good. The food was first class on the one night we ate in. Unfortunately on one night when we went out we we were locked out on our return at 9 30 and told the doors couldn't be opened. So we had a tricky exploration of the dark and dank back paths to find the night door. Some of the lovely comfy furniture has been taken from the bar area. Nowhere for guests to sit in the evening - just 2 armchairs for all the guests. There are 9 rooms. If you've not been before you'll probably be satisfied as the previous own had made a lovely homely hotel but it's changed and it's not for us any more. Sadly.
Top hotel that thoroughly justifies its 4* AA rating. Only three Miles from Hunstanton. Comfortable, spacious rooms, serviced daily, sumptuous breakfast with excellent value for money. Very competitive rates. 100% impressed. Highly recommended. Noteworthy details: Plenty of parking on site.
My Wife and I had been staying at the King William for a number of years and were recently there from the 25th to the 27th of November 2022. Since being taken over by a group we felt it had definitely lost its personality although the staff were pleasant enough. The breakfast selection was underwhelming and our room was small and dated. The only saving grace was that we had a voucher from the previous owner which was honoured. As the location is ideal we will still consider returning if the standards improve.
What an excellent place! Such a warm welcome! Two night stay . . Meal in the bar first night and Restaurant the second. . Excellent food & superb service. . Perfect pint from a well stocked bar and a natter with friendly locals. . Cosy. .comfortable & well serviced room. . Will certainly be staying next year x Karen & Russell Tilli Textiles x
Disappointing evening meal. Advised that there would be wait for food as only one chef working. Curry was very disappointing & very oily. Long wait for drinks to arrive although bar wasn't busy. Half the desserts had run out so we didn't order any. The manager seemed unwelcoming, but the waitress was doing her best in obviously difficult circumstances.
Very comfortable one night stay. The staff are friendly and the hotel is particularly dog friendly. We have eaten at the restaurant many times in the past and the menu was more limited on this occasion but the steak and chips was excellent. The establishment is under new management having being bought recently by Red Cat, a chain of hotels whose philosophy is for them to keep their individuality. I think the previous poor review was due to early "teething troubles" and that the enthusiasm of the management and staff will make it a success.
This is a really nice country pub and hotel. The staff are warm and friendly. The beer garden is of a high standard and not your run of the mill beer gardens. The food menu has a good choice and prices are reasonable certainly a place to call in for lunch, dinner or just a drink in you are in Sedgeford. We will certainly be going back.
Great meal and nice glass of red. We were disappointed that the bar staff didn't offer a greeting on arrival.
Didn't stay there only for a Lunchtime meal. Beer, service & food very good. Outside dining area excellent & very dog friendly. Slightly disappointed with menu choice but we all have our own ideals. Had fish & chips which were very good. Prices on par with most decent pubs, bars & restaurants but this ones a winner on location & service Well done . Will be back soon with the 3 poodles.
Revised after October visit. I don't recommend this place anymore I'm not sure what's happened but completely different from our visit in October, I have emailed the pub chain directly with my feedback on our recent experience.Service: 1/5
