Went for Sunday lunch and was not disappointed. Service was lovely. Restaurant area was nice and busy. Food was fantastic and even more credit to be given, the chef was off that day and the manageress stepped up and was in the kitchen. Trio Roast was superb. All food cooked nicely, potatoes and gravy stunning. All in all a lovely couple of hours. Little tip, save room for pudding as well!
The team was friendly, food was fantastic. Came with my elderly great aunt who has dementia and she is always well looked after by the team.
The meal was very enjoyable.I had a steak which was cooked really nicely followed by sticky toffee pudding and custard which happens to be my favourite it was very tasty if very slightly too sweat. My husband had calamari to start which was nicely cooked and not too chewy, followed by the chicken and vegetable curry which was delicious.All in all a very pleasant meal, which was made even better by Charlie our waiter who was charming polite and very helpful, a lovely young man
Visited The King’s Head for lunch last Saturday with my partner and youngest daughter. Despite there being only 3 other tables occupied, the service was extremely slow indeed. It took over an hour to receive our main course which, when you have a young child with you, makes this all the more unacceptable. The food itself was nicely presented and the flavours were good but it just didn’t make up for the poor service. Several times either myself or my partner had to go up to the bar to remind them of items that had been forgotten and to top it off, the waitress overcharged us by £30. This was rectified but again we had to wait for the manager to come over to do that. It’s lucky that you get 12 hours of free parking because you’d be hard pressed to avoid a ticket with anything less! All in all a mediocre experience. By all means pop in if you’re passing but do not travel out of your way and don’t bother at all if you’re hoping for a quick bite.
Unfortunately, our meal was overcooked. I think this was due to so many people who came to dine. They did listen to our concerns and took some money off the bill.
