Great food, dog friendly, super friendly staff and plenty of them says a lot that they manage this in these difficult times You should definitely give them a try. The empty bowl is all that was left of my delicious chicken + mushroom gnocchi dish
Met with former rail travelling friends for lunch. Good menu choices and lite bites. Bar staff very friendly, quick service and dog friendly we noticed.
Light lunch with my wife a few days ago. Very friendly and accommodating service with a smile. My dog Billy was fussed over with treats and water by the staff. Will be coming back !
We had our angling club Xmas dinner at this pub at the weekend, the veg was just about OK but the meat having been under the heat lamps for so long was dry and tough. Definitely not worth the £15.50 price tag for 1 course.
Consistently lovely. The staff are always accommodating despite our penchant for turning up without having booked. We have been served by Maisey twice now, who is always friendly and attentive. Beers are served as they should be, and the food has always been great. The menu has plenty of familiar favourites but also several novel dishes to keep it interesting.
Shout out to Ebony who served my dad and I on this occasion. With her, the experience went from good to amazing! She recommend the onion Bhaji burger and I promise it's definitely worth the hype!
great pub proper local proper market town pub with good food and great ales friday & saturday are very busy as is sunday carvery. huge beer garden with regular events. easily best venue in town
Brilliant The staff are awesome, the vibe is always good, both inside and out in the garden. They cater for children, dogs, young and old like me and they do an amazing Carvery on a Sunday! It used to be 'My Local.Haunt' 20 plus years ago and is now once again the best place to be in town
New to Wantage so still trying out all the bars and pubs. Stopped in here on a very busy Remembrance Sunday managed to get a table and just enjoyed a Sunday drink for the first time in a long time. Bar staff were excellent offering to bring drinks over rather than have you hanging around the bar. Although I didn't eat there was a carvery and a comprehensive menu that others were tucking into.
Good place for some after work drinks. Great bar staff.
